mm width for stone?

What mm width would be recommended for an asscher stone that measures 5.37x5.40? I don''t want the band to overshadow the stone or make the stone smaller. Thanks in advance.

How are you planning on setting it? Just as a solitare? My asscher is 5.87x5.86 and I have an x prong trellis like 5A setting that I think over shadows it. I''d got for a setting like #1 (wallermama''s looks FABULOUS with a satin finish) or 5 or 2B (2B is praticularly yummy). Unfortunately, unless you bought your asscher from dimend scaasi, you can''t get thier settings. But, for a reference or for ideas, they are great. Personally with your mm size I wouldn''t go much higher than 2.5 mm.

Thanks Gypsy! I have contacted a few vendors, all with instructions to keep the mm width to a minimum. Just waiting to see who will be able to give me the best quote.
