There''s been a few requests for more pictures and info on my partial bezel engagement ring, so here you go :)

The ring was designed by a friend of my family''s who has a small jewelry shop in Carmel, CA. Originally the sides of the bezel opened at the top, but I thought turning it 45 degrees so that it would open up to the half channel band would give it a clean line. Yes, I took out most of the surprise by picking out the setting and stone specs, but it gave my fiance (then boyfriend) the opportunity to dangle it over my head until the point of proposal

It''s a 1.14 carat (not 1.12 noted before), F color, SI1 diamond in a platinum half-channel band.

That is so different and unique! Nice job!

As a nice touch, the jeweler made the ring more square on the bottom to counterbalance the center stone. This prevents a lot of annoying ring turning. I think he puts this feature on a lot of his pieces.

I just can't believe how many scratches (albeit small) there are on the band and it's only been a week.

Oops, sorry for the duplicate.

The ring from the top.

And for the record, the original ring design was turned 90 degrees (not 45 degrees mentioned in the first post).

What a pretty ring...I love all the diamonds and metal!

Oh yes!! I love it! I like what you did turning the bezel around 90 degrees, you are right about the flow.

Really lovely ring. Do you mind sharing what jewelery shop in Carmel it was? If not that''s fine too.

Congrats

my SIL has a very similar ring; the 1/2 bezel really increases the size of the center stone visually!!!!!

Very pretty, I love bezels!!!!

Thanks :) The jewelry shop is called "Designs by Jeffrey" (although the jeweler''s name is Maury) and is in the same shopping center as Sur La Table (Carmel Plaza I think). If you get a similar/same ring, we could start a partial-bezel trend
