First, a big thank you to everyone who helped me along the way. It took a long time and several threads to figure out exactly what I wanted and who I wanted to do it. D&T was incredibly sweet and helpful, sending me some of her stones to play with to help me narrow down what size I wanted to look for, and she''s been wonderful to email and talk to this whole time, and I''m glad to have her as my friend!
I can''t link to any other threads or to the vendors who helped me with this. (Some new Firefox update that seems to be more like a downdate) I got the stone from Dana at Master Cut Gems, and Sally and Pomme at Heart of Water on Etsy created the setting. Dana is so nice and so helpful, and we''ve started on another project together. I just could not recommend him more-he''s wonderful! Sally stayed busy holding my hand thru the entire process and was more than generous with her time, answering my questions and talking about future projects with me. Sally said this was a new style for Pomme, and I think he did a fantastic job!
Never having gone thru this process before I was a bit of a nervous wreck, wondering if I made the right decision to have the stone bezeled, and did I do the right thing by having something custom made using a couple other rings as inspiration. I won''t deny being a little nervous when I opened the little box-what if it wasn''t what I wanted or I was letdown in some way? It wasn''t a considerable amount that we spent on the ring to some, but to us it was a lot, and I just didn''t know what I would do.
But I opened it and did this
and if there was an emotie for happy crying and a weird dancing jig, I''d put those up too. Everyone says it''s hard to judge how things look on a computer screen when it''s magnified, and boy is that true. My monitor is 22", so I was looking full screen at a ring that was as big as my head-tends to skew your perception a bit haha!
And now, thanks to Arcadian I have (real) pictures! I spent some time in the snow today and took a ton. It''s not sunny today, it''s overcast and snowing, but the massive amount of snow on the ground lightens it up outside.
First I''ll do the ones I took in the house the other night.
