So I had this idea but I'm curious as to your thoughts. I have a nice pair of mint tourms - a 5ct stone in a ring (from Jerry Newman), and a.... ~2ct stone in a necklace with a halo. Both have great, nearly identical color (at least to my still-novice eyes)
The problem is, I just have not really been happy with the ring setting. I went for most classic possible but I feel like it just came out cold, overly minimalistic.... I think the problem is, and I hate to admit it, but the stone is too big for me. It feels like a ring pop.
Conversely, while I LOVE the setting on the necklace, I feel like it's a little small for me. Then I had the crazy idea while driving home today to swap these two pieces - take the necklace setting and use it as the head on a ring, ala the below. And take the large stone and turn it into a pendant.
I'm open to opinions and feedback though. Would you switch the two? Or should I keep the necklace as is, and just try to reset the ring? How would you reset such a large stone if you were going to keep it in a ring?
Thanks for any ideas
Edited bc I forgot the second half of the swaparoo plan.
