Thanks for sharing Jereni. Why did you decide to go with Boone instead of Quest? Do you have some Quest pieces you can post? I've worked with Quest once and they were great.

In this case, I went with Boone because they had a setting with a very similar shape and sized stone that I really liked. Furthermore....I kinda think the price they quoted me is lower than what I would have gotten at Quest (although I did not ask for both quotes and probably should have). For example, the setting for the green tourm, which includes some diamond melee (right term? when is it melee vs. pave?), is $600 less than a ring Quest is currently making for me, same metal (18k white gold). The Quest ring is a three stone, but I provided all 3 stones (sapphires), and the design is one they indicated they have made before.

So I guess generally I am comparing Boone & Quest's custom work right now :) I'll have to post comparison pics or something.

Here's a ring from Quest, one which I posted to PS a few months ago. This is a Maevona design though, so Quest essentially just set it, they didn't design it. I also have a gorgeous diamond stacker from them, I'll have to take some pics and post that one tomorrow.

Melees are small accent gemstones, mostly under 0.1 ct each.
Pave is the type or style of setting melee diamonds.

When will your ring be ready? The Maevona is very pretty.

Thanks for the clarification Chrono!

I talked to the jeweler today and the ring will be ready tomorrow! So excited :D :D :D

That is really quick! Can't wait to see it in the setting.

That was quick! Very excited for you.

Okay, Jereni, today is "tomorrow," or "tomorrow" is today, so let's see it! :cheeky: :cheeky:

I was just thinking the same thing :)

Ok, well here's a few quick pics til tomorrow. I wasn't going to post because I didn't get home with it until dusk and I just CANNOT get good pics of it in incandescent light with my dinky cell phone camera. These are the best two I could get - will post more tomorrow when it is hopefully sunny!

That looks amazing for incandescent light; can't wait to see what it looks like tomorrow!

I love that stone!!!!

It looks perfect as a ring! Congrats!

Thanks so much everyone!!!

Alright, I did my best to capture the ring in daylight. Unfortunately it is largely cloudy here but I was able to get pictures in better focus. Prepare for the deluge!

Backlight by window...came out dark in tone. It doesn't look like this color IRL.

Profile shot for you Chrono!

I don't want to alarm you, but there is an usually large furry creature in the background...

Amazing that it ALWAYS looks so beautiful!

Stunning, definitely something worth treasuring.

Love these pics, especially the profile where you can see the melees and how delicate the prongs are compared to the massive size of the stone! I think the fuzzy gray kitty wants to wear some bling too.

Just gorgeous! Love it!

Hee hee the little fuzzy was being all kinds of helpful during the photoshoot.

Just wanted to hop back on and say thanks so much to everyone for their kind words! I would never have found this stone without this forum. In truth, I rather lucked out with it, but I hope as I continue to learn here, that I can make the right stone decisions more often.

Thank you all for taking a look and letting me show it off!
