Mint garnet ring

Haha, my old camera seems to capture the green better than my current one. These photos show how green this garnet is.

That ring is gorgeous! the swooping lines are so graceful and delicate and absolutely make the stone the star of the show. What is the setting like? Does it seem sturdy?

minousbijoux, thanks. The ring is very thin in width; I would say about 1mm. But it is relatively thick in height: close to 3mm where it meets the head of the setting. I suppose it is due to the added thickness that the ring feels quite sturdy. It even makes me wonder whether it is really 18k. Overall, it is a solid ring despite its thinness.

The diamonds are of course very very tiny, but they sparkle quite well. (Not sure if it is because of my upgrade or not.) The garnet and the diamonds put on quite a show. Today, a male colleague even asked me whether it was a green diamond, LOL. The only thing I hope I did is to make the ring size a bit smaller since it is a bit loose due to the thin shank.

Thats a really sweet ring @H2O and the stone just loves to be photographed.

Beautiful color... bluish, which is what is desirable in this stones.

Beautiful ring Atwater, if I haven't sent my long oval spinel out for an Etsy setting I would love to use the one you have chosen for your garnet.

I would love to use that setting myself !
But when I look on Lanbo I don't see it (?)

Gorgeous! :appl:

I have been eyeing that setting for a while, now it's at the top of my list. :appl:

What a great stone, you have a good eye.

That garnet is to die for! LOVE mint garnets! The setting, though delicate, really makes the stone the star! :appl:

ooo~Shiney!, The Lanbo setting is here:

I paid $30 to upgrade the diamond, $50 to upgrade the gold, and $20 for customizing setting for the garnet. They offer to set the stone for free, so I mailed my garnet to them via Express Mail. It only took a few days (probably 3~4 days) for them to set my stone and mail my ring out via UPS. Pretty fast turnaround IMO. I was worried about any damage to the garnet; luckily it did not happen.

iLander and k9muttlover, thank you for your compliements.

k9muttlover: your new blue/green tourmaline is beautiful
