Cees is back in the Netherlands and luckily I had the chance to visit him today. It was a fantastic day and Cees was so sweet he allowed me to play with his treasures. He has a lot of beautiful pearls fit for queens.
Let the pictures speak for themselves, just accept my apology that some pictures look crappy. It was cloudy sometimes but all pictures were taken in natural light, no enhancement whatsoever.
First blue akoyas.

Tahitians.
When I was talking to Cees, the door bell rang. Here came a new shipment of pearls. I was allowed to play with those 2 strands of each 300 cm long ropes, they are peacock and silver Tahitians. Each rope consists of 2 ropes and 5 bracelets which can be connected with a harpoon clasp. There are 2 pairs of huge baroque Ts.

This should be interesting. We used to be able to post things like this on this forum, then Ella changed the rules and people were banned for doing so.

Looking for a UPDATE PLEASE ELLA. HAVE THE RULES CHANGED?

Oh can't I post something like this here? I'm a newbie... :roll

Not according to the moderator. Unless you purchased everything you just posted. We used to be able to post ruckus photos but if you look back that was years ago.

Where can I find the info exactly?

You mean this quote I copied below?
But I'm not a vendor and don't promote particular vendor(s). :roll I treat them as partners in business.
Yeah, ok rules are rules. I accept them.
  1. Posts related to pearls are only to be discussed in designated sections on the forum.
  2. No promotional links, links to Facebook, blogs, personal accounts on other sites, items for sale, gofundme requests, contest entries.

Hi Nacrelover,

Actually that isn't correct. People who are affiliated with vendors or offering shopping services to users of the forum on such visits are not allowed to do so, that has always been clearly defined in the rules. Nothing has changed. If someone is repeatedly going to a vendor, offering to help people purchase things, etc. that is not allowed.

If a user makes a one-time trip to a vendor and wants to show a few photos that is fine. There is a big difference between the two things.

So are photos from the Pearl Guide ruckus allowed now?

Cees has the most fabulous pearls! Thanks for sharing!

I enjoyed looking at the photos and gawking over all these amazing pearls. Thank you.

Glad you enjoy the pictures, Siameseroo & Burmesedaze =)2

HI:

Yummy...I could gobble them up!

cheers--Sharon

Canuk-gal, I'm glad you like them. They are not edible though :loopy:

They are all gorgeous. The big T's look like Tahitian Souffle ( though they are not strictly souffle pearls as it's a different nucleation method) .. did you get to look at them closely ? Just big baroques? I know a trader who was given a handful of the T souffles at the Sept show so she could show them to GIA/CPAA- she passed on the strands as the quality was not very good - they are very very fragile. Hopefully over the next few years they will let them get a thicker nacre more like the Souffles which are lightweight but still hardy.

They felt quite heavy in my hand, katbran. I did ask Cees whether they were souffle or not, he said they were just big baroques. They have a dark body color like the souffles shown by trader at the Sept show. One of them has a some peacock overtone. Initially when I saw them I thought they were souffle Ts nucleated with those blue pills, but the weight did make me think twice.

Ah, interesting ! They do look just like the 'Souffle' T's but I didn't think Cees would have bought any of them due to the quality..or lack thereof. The strand that Hisano had at the show was not from the show, her's was quite attractive and light as a feather. I'll be interested in keeping an eye on them in the future as they are a great idea for people that hate the weight of large pearls. The way they are now you'd have to fill them with a resin and that would make them heavy..so no point.

Katbran, I think Cees bought those baroques simply because they are huge. He has a lot of huge SSPs and Tahitians in his collection. But I prefer color to size....

Me too ... I don't usually buy really big( 16+) Tahitians as the colour is generally not wonderful :naughty:..obviously there are exceptions .. but overall they are not as lustrous or as brightly coloured.
He does sell to designers tho so sometimes they want something unusual .:wink2:

Yeah, I wanted to grab one of those strong golden greenish drop Tahitians and he said matter-of-factly, No, I'm not going to tell you its price, it's taken. My heart broke :(2! It has the most otherworldly color and comes alive on my skin. :lickout:
You're right, bigger Ts tend to lose their fiery overtones and become dull.
