I have attached a copy of the certificate. I am more interested in the diamond rather than the platinum that this one comes with. This person was asking $4000 - And we negotiated down to $3500. We will be meeting at a jewelry store tomorrow to verify it is that diamond in the certificate. The seller says it appraised for $7000. It was on consignment at a jewelry shop for 6800$ and nobody bought it I guess.

Any advise if this is a nice diamond at a good price? Or possibly how much the retail of this diamond is?

Thanks a million :)

No information on the cut and considering the difference in mm (.14), i''m going to assume it''s not the best. Not even close. As far as price for a used IGI stone, it''s too much.

I just did a search for a GIA graded G, SI1. They start at about $3,600.

Ditto.

Ok thanks a lot! I will pass on that one then.

Can you recommend a good place where I can get .9 to 1ct Ideal Round which is a good performer? I am very new to this and appreciate the help!

What are your specs and budget?

We were thinking .8 - 1ct round, ideal cut.

Well I want the best I can possibly get for about 4k including the 18k white gold setting. I''m not against buying used. I prefer AGS since it seems that is the highly regarded one.

How much lower are you willing to go for color and clarity?

For AGS, for you budget, there is these 2? Ask if these are eye-clean if interested.

You can look at GIA certified stones too. We recommend AGS or GIA.

G-D in color, SI1 or better.

Is JA the preferred place around here? As far as value for your money?

Thanks!

They usually has the best price but their buy back/trade up policy is less generous than other vendors because of that.

Great. Just what I needed to know. Do you think companies like WhiteFlash will match the prices? What do you think of Whiteflash? The one I looked at was this one

http://www.whiteflash.com/round/Round-cut-diamond-2145455.htm# - but its more than $500 more.

This is a nice one. You need to verify with whiteflash that it is eye-clean.

Ditto - if it''s eyeclean to your standards it''s a winner!
