Microhalo pave size for 2.3 ct AVC. Help needed urgently!!!

So hi guys:wavey:
Posted here a about a month ago when I was searching for my cushion.
It is now being custom set, and my jeweler wants to know the size of the microhalo melee half cuts.
My weddingband has 1.5 pointers I think.
He is suggesting anywhere between 3.0-1.0 poiters.
Would this look like a “microhalo”?
If anyone has pictures that would be greatly appreciated as well as any advice.
I’m so exited but don’t want to mess up the setting.
My finger is aroun a size 6.

Here are some of the CAD pics! My ring is being hand forged where i live in Europe and this is Jonathans design that he made for me when I wisited him in NY. I love it so much. Just want to be sure my jeweler gets the dimensions looking nice.
The prongs will hopefully be a little more dainty too.
Then the next question is the size of melee on the shank. My jeweler is refusing to do as small as 1.5 pointers there, which is probanly good for stability. What size of melee there would be the biggest you would consider? The idea is to have as little metal as possible showing. Thanks again!!!

3 pointers in a halo, in my opinion are too big. Especially if you are looking for a microhalo.

Your inspiration ring is very nice! Have you seen any of this local jewelers work? Are you sure that they have the skills to execute such a design?

Yes I agree about the 3 pointers definitely. He is our family jeweler and made my Harry Winston inspired micro pave eternity band, that turned out amazing.
So I trust him with the craftsmanship 100%!
But he is a creative guy and I think he wasn’t so happy I already had the design from Jonathan:$$):

Wow, what a coincidence that we have the exact same cushion sizes! And halo designs as well. Those 1 pointers look quite substantial to me.

Ok so my jeweler was actually suggesting 3 pt for the shank. Misunderstood:lol-2: So I’m thinkin 1 pt for the halo maybe, don’t want it to be too “ micro” either:lol:

So what do you guys think about the shank size. My band is 1.5pt. Will 3 pt look off?
Don’t really have time to go and look irl because I work a lot.
Anyone have 3 pters in shank or anywhere else? Would greatly appreciate pictures.
What do you think about 2.5pt for the shank?

3pts in the shank would be too different. I'd do 2pts at most. It's a beautiful ring design overall!!

Two questions - Why not have Jonathan make it, and have you considered bezel setting the center stone instead of prongs?

Thank you! Yes, 1pt halos look bigger than one would expect. 2.3ct is a great size for a cushion halo ring. It looks decently big on the hand and doesn't break the bank ;)2

Because I live in Scandinavia and went through the trouble of flying to NY to get the stone. That way I could see the diamond IRL and not have to pay VAT in my country (22%)
So to send my baby over the Atlantic again is just too difficult. Plus I had alteady alerted my jeweler/ frend that I finally after almost three years found the right stone. That being said it would have been really awkward to suddenly go back on my word.I wanted a hand forged ring too. But Jonathan was nice enough to do the CAD design for me anyway. I feel so quilty because he of course did offer to make it for me:oops: Had the circumstances been different I’d definitively given him the job.

And as for the bezel... Yes I have considered pretty much everything, but I’m just more of a prong gal i guess. As long as they are dainty. Have considered double prongs too.
 
And if anyone is interested in the setting Jonathan designed, it is available on the AVC inc website. We named it Lenore after my late mother, who sadly passed away last summer from cancer.

Oh dear!
Now i have searched all over PS for melee sizes. :wall:
I think I want smaller than 1 pt. Saw that many also choose 0.5 pt, like @CharmyPoo did.
I want half cuts and my jeweler is unsure if he can get that small stones in half cuts and that the quality of the stone might suffer because of the small size...

Does anyone have 0.5 half cuts to show me?
