Mexican Fire Opal Gemstone Carving

I picked up this stunning orange pendant yesterday. Mexican fire opal carved by Sherris Cottier Shank and set with a simple 14k yellow gold pin setting. Under the right light the glow from inside the stone is amazing.

T Lee of Minneapolis closed her shop at the current location and will reopen in two weeks at her new site. There was a 50% off sale yesterday. I picked out a few pretties to enjoy.

Sherris has gemstone roundtables at various locations around the US. Definitely worth going if there is one in your area. She was here a few weeks ago and I picked out a gorgeous apple green chrysoprase carving for myself. I'll show it off once it is set.

I kept thinking that I don't need an orange pendant, but it is an amazing piece. I know that I'm going to enjoy it a lot. After all, jewelry is supposed to be pretty and fun.
