If you caught the season premiere of Apprentice 57: International Edition you must have seen Orlando Bloom look-a-like Tarek almost get fired. Two, three days later I am still steaming over this guy because of the way he won't shut up about his Mensa membership. He's all "I'm in the top 2% of intelligence" "Do you think I'm NOT intelligent?" "The advantages of being in Mensa is that it allows me to think on my feet." AHHHHHHGGGGHHH!

It's like Star Jones used to be about being a laaaahyahhh ("lawyer" for those that don't speak Southern).

Anyone else see it?

omg..i''m not watching but he looks JUST LIKE Orlando...I love that picture even though he sounds like an ass.

I thought it was funny when Trump said that he thinks MENSA is overrated at the end after the apprentices left the boardroom.

HA!! My FI was like, why is Orlando Bloom on The Apprentice? I guess he''s "schmexy". 1/2 hunk 1/2 schmuck.

I FORGOT THAT!!! That was great! Trump also said "You squeeked by this time Tarek" and then the guy Trump calls "The Russian" said in his cool accent "Not for long!" Guess we''ll see ...

I loved that. methinks he is next to get the boot.

I was so embarassed for him.

So sad.

I know it sounds crazy ... but I really have learned stuff from watching The Apprentice. It''s like a social/biz experiment or something.

Wonder why that one "works" but the M. Stewart one, well, didn''t ....

I haven''t met any members in my life yet, but I am speculating that some of the IQ genius might lack more practical and social skills.

I reallly like The Apprentice...although I haven''t been "into it" as much as I was with the first show.

It seems to me the contenders are getting less and less classy as the years go on.

I''m glad that girl got fired...I wouldn''t have been able to look at her ''big hair'' for a whole season!

I was actualy being a little unfair.
There are 2 types of members that iv met the true great thinkers which is about 1 in 1000 and the memorizers which is the majority.
3 cousins of mine are members and fall into the later group.
The ones in the first group you would never know they belonged because they see no need to brag and are usualy too busy to anyway.

Just to spite em the one and only Iq test I took I got a score of 0 on :}
The teacher that made us take it was realy ticked off LOL

Hey! I''m a Mensan!

I can assure you, however, that my membership has done nothing to improve my ability to "think on my feet!" I got the distinct impression that he was a member of MENSA simply to be able to tell others about it. Meanwhile, I think three of my closest friends (and now the pscope community!) know. He would be a jerk whether or not he was a card-carrying member.

Munchkin

I have nothing again Mensa members (and have some in my own family too) ... I think this guy would have been a jerk about something else if he didn't have that to "hang his hat on."

I just kept thinking "It's pretty dumb to keep talking about how smart you are!" also "Gee you really look like Orlando Bloom."

ETA: Hey! Lightbulb ... I realized he's probably afraid of being seen as a "himbo" or "just a pretty face". Okay. I have more compassion now.

my thoughts EXACTLY!!!! (on the orlando thing)
also, there''s a girl on the other team that looks like sandra bullock!

In highschool I was told by a couple people I should join mensa. A friend of mine joined and she described the horrors of being a 16 year old nerd being hit on by 30 year men with no social skills. No thanks.

Didn''t Trump call him "overrated"? Trump was not impressed by him.

Mensa dude is cute though, and yes, he looks just like Orlando!

All those good looks and brains and he still can''t win! Shows how important people skills are. I got a kick out of the nerdy guy on the other team.

I was a member for a while, but let it lapse. I always found there to be two type of Mensan:

1. The nerdy, "look at me, I''m a Mensan!" type with no social skills (90%)

2. The perfectly normal, "what am I doing with these freaks" type (10%)

Type Two hate admitting membership because of being thought of as Type One. Whenever I hear of someone hyping themselves as a Mensan, it makes me cringe because I know they''re Type One.

(I don''t mean you, Munchkin. We''re both Type Two

Holy crap - I thought that was a picture of Orlando Bloom.

Too bad his personality offsets his good looks.

Aiigh!! I didn''t get to see The Apprentice last night ... (Yet, it''s on my Tivo!!). But I''m dying to know, what happened with Mensa-boy this week? Was he as annoying? Even cuter? I''d rather hear it from you guys than the Television Without Pity gang. Where are my snarky/terrific P-scopers in my time of Apprentice need?

he definitely wasn''t in the spot light like last week!
plus his team won!

the attention was based on brent... wait till you watch it..haha.

I definitely think the mensa guy was keeping a low profile...after last weeks close call!

I presume "Brent" is that incredibly obnoxious guy? I would have bet (and won) that he wouldn''t be fired...creeps like that are probably good for ratings!

OMG did anyone see the smirk on Brent''s face when he wasn''t fired and got in the elevator?? Oh I wanted to rip that smirk right off his face. What an as*. I can''t wait for him to go next!!!!

Yeah, I guess he feels that he got the last laugh. Although he is obnoxious, I agreed that he shouldn''t be fired this week because at least he tried to generate some interests (there''s probably better ways than acting like a clown, but at least he tried). The other members of the team were just standing around saying that he is ridiculous instead of doing anything. And I didn''t get why the whole team had to stay together instead of spreading out and covering more grounds. Sometimes I just don''t know what they are thinking.
33.gif
He probably will be fired soon.

The mensan guy was definitely much more low key this week since he knows he got lucky last week. He even told the apprentices back in the room that he got lucky because the other girl tried to stand up for her.

From hearing the other candidates for Apprentice''s credentials I''d be willing to bet there were several qualified to be in MENSA who for whatever reason never bothered to join. All you have to have is an IQ score of X or a SAT score of Y to get in.
I''m waiting to see if one of them calls him on it.

i actually think the mensa guy will get far in the show...
it always seems to be the case, and i think donald may have some sort of interest..

i dont know names yet, but the blonde girl on that same team with a really nice hair cut.. yes i think she may make it far too!

also. (ugh. i hate that i havent cought any names yet!)
but the good looking guy who came up with the idea of the bathrobes(stupid stupid stupid) ANYWAYS , I actually think he will pick it up next week too.
I dont think he "failed" as much as donald said.. because he did in fact throw out the stupid idea, but the team all agreed. anyways i think he''ll pick it up.

I agree that brent will stay a week, maybe two (depending on who wins/loses the task, and if anyone screws up even more).

I actually didn''t like this task very much.. the idea wasnt "there" I guess

Actually Donald has a record of firing wrong guy for a team failure.

Remember Ad campaign for Shania Twain new perfume?

OK, contest - first poster with the right reason why absolutely wrong person was fired and nobody noticed, win the prize - Ultrasonic cleaner.

35.gif

they fired adam because of the carriage thing (he picked the carriage to wrap the adds on..) LIKE DONALD SAID THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO.
and instead. it looked like crap. then at the end , they all jumped on him saying he was stupid for doing such a decision.
and they wouldn''t fire alla who made the decision to go with it, and she and felisha got the "help" of what.. 15
anyways.
it was a bad call with the carriage, but they had the impression it would work FROM DONALD..

do i win?
5.gif

also. they started an hour late, and were pretty close to winning (if i remember correctly), and they didn't haev the lame idea of putting ppl..
so. the other team had 60 (but the use of the wrap ad *not sure what the real term is*) SHOULD have been used the way they described it..
and he made that choice. and got fired.

okay. i think i explained the details!

he always fires irrationally i find, its like when they fired mark(when they fired 4 ppl..) I know all he did was the batting cage, but thats what he was told to do!
GOD!
he didnt do a poor job,
and yet he got fired too.
meh.
*end rant*

ps. yes i watch this show eeeeeeeevery week. i love this line of work, and even if i don't agree with everything that happens, i find it "lovely to watch" :)

does anyone find that this year they don't foccus as much on the task, btu more on the board room, and the gossip as to who is going to be fired??
14.gif

oh well. reality tv at its "best" i suppose
