I just got my wedding band from a local jeweler and it's in white gold. I love the style, but I was quite disappointed with the finish...It looked a little off in color and not polished consistently...Also it has no stamp indicating it being 'gold'

My questions are

1) Is it required for the jeweler to stamp the carat amount inside the ring?

2) What should I ask in terms of plating on the ring?

I know I should have looked more into this before hand, but at the moment I just wasn't thinking (I just thought hey I love the look and comfort)...

Dear Ingocnito
Please do not get disappointed but it is must to have carat stamped in the ring.

Did you have the ring sized? They cut out the carat stamp when sizing(a inexperienced jewelers move)and they didn't re-rhodium plate the ring again after sizing.Go back and let them know that they need to re-stamp the ring and rhodium plate it.If they say that's not needed then tell them you its a deal breaker...it is needed.
