so recently the other half was very sick n hospital (he is now home and well and trully on the mend)
it was a very scary time in CCU but i did find myself looking at the jewlleery worn by the wonderful staff, from the doctors and nurses to the cleaners and the ladies who delivered the meals (everyone works so hard)
i have often read here on PS about what our doctors and nurses and other medical proffesionals wear or dont wear at work

i was pleasently surprised at the amount of bling -i even noticed when we first arrived in all the drama of being in resuss

In our little provincal city we see lots of pearls on ladies, from school girls to rich old ladies
so i saw lots of pearls and gold and silver studs -no danglies

but in general i wouldn't say jewellery was understated

i did see a few lovely pendents, diamond and gemstones, pearl pendents
i cant say i noticed a lot of rings other than wedding bands
the physiotherapist had a lovely neck mess - just 3 necklaces
the day after we left he got called back for a blood test so a diiferent part of the hospital and i saw one of the techs wearing this
its sprits bay from MIcjheal Hill (NZ mall jewejller) - i have the ring in silver so i recognised it

please post pictures of what you wear to work
and thank you for all the work you do to keep people alive and make them healthy again

somedays i wore a necklace, other days i didnt have the energy, some days i was too preocupied with finding a clean shirt !
but i wore pearls often but this sub forum is a no pearl photos zone

i always said it would cheer me up to see doctors and nurses wearing jewellery and now i know what a lovely distraction it was and how much i needed it

Thank you for posting this @Daisys and Diamonds and hope Gary is on the mend. I love that such little things brighten up your day.

Recently we had a family meeting at the hospital and the head doctor had a really nice diamond eternity band on her ring finger. I know in clinical areas there's a policy of being "bare below the elbows". I'll definitely pay attention to the neck mess and earrings next time I'm on the ward.

I am glad to hear that Gary is doing better! I really don't wear any jewelry to work. Over the years I have had some coworkers wearing nice engagement rings/wedding bands, I can remember a few cartier love necklaces, diamond earrings. A few male coworkers with expensive watches, one male coworker wore a Cartier trinity as wedding band.

So happy to hear Gary is doing better

I just went up a size in gloves

Oh, I’m an “indoor girl” .. the most I spend outside is running from an air conditioned car to an air conditioned building, lol! I went up a glove size because I refuse to take Flora off and she needs some room

When I worked in the NICU we were not allowed to wear anything at all. Not even nail polish.
Now I work in a different area and we can wear what we want. I usually wear a diamond band and my watch. Sometimes I will wear my solitaire, it just depends.

HI:

I usually wear my small Tiffany natural yellow diamond ring--you don't even notice it. I like that it is very low. And my University ring. I also wear earrings--and rotate them with my wardrobe. Sometimes I wear a pendant, but usually I forget. No watch or bracelets. A few of my colleagues layer bracelets. But most wear their wedding rings.

I see my fair share of males wearing Rolexes' and the odd female as well.

cheers--Sharon

Great to hear that Gary is better, and you as well. I know how dreary and miserable hospital moments are, glad you're on the upside.

My kid wears Whiteflash earrings in the Inspiration-al setting that we gifted her when she graduated, an Apple watch, and a stethoscope for her work "necklace."

Not allowed! Wedding ring only, no watches, can just about get away with my 0.33cttw diamond studs. It’s an infection and sometimes patient safety risk.

It’s funny. I’ve been on both sides a lot lately. As an ED physician I wear a plain band, small studs/huggies, Apple Watch. As a patient I looooove to see what my providers are wearing! I love the inspiration for future projects and the pretty break from the boring sterile environment. None of my surgeons wear much. The only people I see in pretty jewelry are outpatient clinic type of people, like my immunologist.

Glad y’all are home and recovering.
