Measurements vs. carat size

What measurements would be typical for a .92 carat oval diamond? I know very, very little about them, but the loose diamond I bought seems small. Is 5.87 x 4.4 mm in the normal range for that carat weight?

Thank you in advance!

What is the girdle thickness?

That I don’t know. It did not come with any paperwork, but was from a trusted source.

Ovals are really hard. It's jumping into the deep end. So I would advise you to request and help the posters on this forum to evaluate your potential diamonds with pictures and videos where available.

In order to avoid a bowtie you sometimes have to give up some spread (dimensions). Typically jewelers charts list 5x7 as the ideal dimensions for a 1 carat stone.

But... to me, dimensions are secondary to appearance on ovals because they can be so hard to find a good performer with no bowtie. The dimensions, to me, are secondary.

Do you have pictures of the diamond? Can you give us more information?

That seems like very small face-up dimensions: a .9 ct round is about 6.2 mm. The L x W of a .9 oval should average out to at least 6.5

Is the stone still within its return window? It is rather small for its carat weight.

Yes, it is in the return window. Why would the measurements be so far off from the norm?
