MAYO! Light mayo when given a choice b/c I think it taste the same.

I use light mayo too but I cannot use fat free, tastes bad.

A while back my husband bought Kraft Cucumber Ranch Dressing it tastes just like Miracle Whip

Grew up on MW, but discovered mayo in adulthood. Never looked back. Hellmans is the ONLY brand. Kraft sucks. Hubs still prefers MW, and he gets if for sandwiches, but by golly, you CANNOT make decent ranch dressing with MW. Period. Mayo. Buttermilk. Buttermilk POWDER. Spices. Secret ingredient. Best buttermilk ranch in town. However, you can make your very own thousand island dressing with MW, ketchup, and pickle relish. You mix it until it''s the right color and add the pickle relish. Seriously. My mom taught me that little trick. If you have both ingredients and need a quick dressing, this is WAY better than anything in a bottle, and no one will know you made it yourself. Unless of course they rave about it, and you like to toot your own horn a bit.

And they will, and you probably will too.

I agree! I find that is the way with most light versions vs. fat free. I usually cannot taste a difference which is awesome but fat free is DISGUSTING! So I stick with reduced fat.

Now about neither. Yuck!

I know that this is a totally irrational assumption and judgment...I have two of them.

I will not reveal the other on this forum, and I haven''t read the entire thread so if you are one of these, I am not speaking specifically to you (but if the shoe fits)

I used to have an irrational belief that a person who doesn''t know the difference between Mayo and Miracle Whip is automatically unintelligent. Okay, I admit, I still jump to the conclusion if someone says "I can''t tell the difference" What? How can you not tell the difference. My mother does this. She cannot tell the difference after 70 odd years.

I used to ask her..."Well, if you can''t taste the difference, can you see the difference? See all the little red flecks of god-only-knows-what in the Miracle Whip?" Nope.

I hate bologna sandwiches, but if I had to have one...it''s the only thing I prefer to have Miracle Whip with. Anything else...Mayo all the way.

Definitely Mayo...preferably Hellmans.

I think the red flecks in miraclewhip are bits of paprika.

Miracle whip on sliced turkey or chicken sandwiches

Mayo for tuna salad or chicken salad

Japanese kewpie mayo for sushi, okonimiyaki , or when I want to switch it up.

Yes I do have all three - I am a sandwich spread connoisseur
(we also have 3 kinds of mustard: regular, dijon, and honey mustard)

Vegenaise!

For the mayo lovers: When I was a teenager me and my mom would eat saltines (cracker) with mayo smeared on. I am sure that is probobly the most unhealthy snack to have, but so good.

I do not normally eat mayo on fries unless it is chick fil a. It has to be their waffle fries and their mayo. I always feel weird when I order and ask for "an obsene amount of mayonnaise"

DH is a big mayo lover (thank goodness) and he will eat a spoonful of mayo. I like it as a condiment not a pudding
He also puts ketchup on keilbasa. I think that ruins it, but hey he obviously likes it that way.

Ranch, Mmmm. I do not it on pizza per se. I like to dip my crust in it. There is enough flavor going on on the rest of the slice, but the crust is bland (unless it is stuffed crust, which DH hates) so I dip in ranch.

If you live near a Trader Joe''s, I highly recommend the Wasabi Mayo

haha I knew there was a good reason I never liked thousand island!!

BTW - secret ingredient.... I had the best potato salad once and the caterer gave me her secret - she sprinkles a little ranch dressing mix in - now I make the best potato salad!!!

Mayo for sure, Miracle Whip is revolting.

Agreed.

I don''t know why she says it, but this is something my mom has been telling me my entire life:

''Jews don''t eat Miracle Whip.''

It''s not a dietary thing, according to her, it''s just something we apparently don''t do. Ah, the bizarre things our mothers tell us.

....

My mother told me Jews dont eat Mayo!

CONSPIRACY!

I''m guessing a LOT of conversations in both of your houses started with "jews don''t..... " hehe Sounds like a good way to set the bar!

I have read through and it seems like people who like miracle whip can tolerate mayo, but us mayo lovers loathe miracle whip. Odd.
I know radiantquest, Us Mayo people aren''t as tolerant huh??

I so don''t get miracle whip.

Now we need a thread on mustard.... Yellow , Brown, Grey Poupon??? LOL!!!!

all of the above! it just totally depends :) Even on hot dogs it totally depends on the quality/flavor

I prefer mayo (Bring Out The Hellman''s & Bring Out The Best!), but I''ll use Miracle Whip if it''s my only option (I don''t hate the tangy zip).

Mayo is probably one of my favorite condiments actually. I cannot eat french fries without it (okay, I can, but why would I?)

Neither! But if I have to have one of my sandwich, it''d have to be Mayo.

mayo!

Mayo- grew up in a Cains household. When I was young I was able to put mayo on almost anything, much to the horror of my parents.

The first time my husband and I went grocery shopping together he picked up Miracle Whip and "don''t touch that!" flew out of my mouth, like he picked up the plague or something. It was quite funny.
