Good morning!

Where am I - on the west coast - still sleeping while MMM is stirring the pot...

Yes, I found a new stone. This cushion is going back to Whiteflash this morning. Whiteflash and Jamie have been wonderful to work with and totally understand that buying a diamond is a very emotional thing. Unfortunately I just could not love this stone.

Here is the timeline - everything has been like a whirlwind:
I received the WF stone on Saturday (9/10) and changed my mind a thousand times if I should keep her or not.
On Monday I e-mailed another PS vendor and told him what I like about this stone and what I don''t and what I would like to have. He phoned me within four hours - telling me he has a stone in front of him and he is SURE I will lone it. Since he owns the stone he will ship it to an appraiser in Seattle immediately and if I do not like the stone he will pay for shipping and the appraisal, if I like her I will pay. I said "why not?", it is not going to cost me anything. He recommended that I should not send the WF stone back, because I should compare the two

On Mondey evening I took the WF stone to an appraiser (had the appointment since before I received the stone) and she told me it is an excellent stone and it would be really difficult to find another of the same or better cut and quality - more agonizing for me! She explained the physics of light and that the dark cross I did not like will almost always be in a rectangular fancy. (I started considering a RB)
The stone from NY arrived on Tuesday, but I could only get an appointment on Wednesday afternoon - more agony for me!
I walked in on Wednesday at the appraiser, saw the diamond and even before I could take out the WF stone, I know that she was going back. I loved the stone from NY!!!!

On Thursday I made arrangemenst for wire transfers and sending the Whiteflash stone back. I am sure somebody else will love her.

So, the new stone - My Lovely - is a 1.55ct, G , VS1, 55-57%table ( yeah!), 64.1% depth, she is classified as a cushion brilliant and the facet plot looks like MMM''s stone - I think...and that is all I can remember. I forgot to ask for a copy of the GIA certificate, I do not have a photo, I do not have a sarin report, I do not have an Ideal Scope image...but who cares, I love her and have not worried one bit about if I will keep her or not when I have more time to look at her in different light conditions etc.

OK, I am off to the post office! I will start a new thread as soon as I have My Lovely, and tell you more about her.

You''re dealing with Mark, right? I am too... he''s found a stone for me, but I won''t see it in person for awhile yet. Yesterday he shared an anecdote about how he just helped a client in Washington find their dream cushion only very shortly after hearing what the client was looking for. Based on what you said in a recent post, I bet that client was you!! Congratulations.

Do you have any pictures??

I just hope I''m as happy with the stone he found for me.

) And I have finally convinced hubby that it should be save in our house - we don''t need insurance before we pick it up - I promised not to take her out too many times, only work on a "safe surface" away from vents and don''t allow the cats near it

The cushion was not on Mark''s database and I do not have a photo. And yes, I am working with Mark from Engagementringsdirect - The Cushion Wizard, and I am from Seattle, WA.

I gave him the link of this thread and told him what I like and don''t like and he came up with a diamond within hours oof our first contact with the perfect one - My Lovely

Anyway, I am a "traditional" solitaire girl - no pave, no halo, no side-stones for me, thank you. My "Inspire Ring" is the Rectangular Lucida from Tiffany''s (Way too expensive!) And since I am getting a new e-ring, I might as well get a new w-band.

Unfortunately for my hubby and our financial manager I do not have a sentinental bone in my body

I have a Tiffany Lucida at the moment (only and last piece of jewelry from them) and she and my current w-band will go into the safe.

I like a thick band (3mm), double prongs, split shank, low profile and a w-band that sits flush. The w-band I want is from Whiteflash - their scattered diamond band.

My favourites at the moment are:
1) WhiteFlash W-prong (here with the wedding band)
2) Dvatche Double X-prong (ala ep6585) But I do not know if the WF wedding band will go with it. All the Dvatche w-bands have a funny shape and the only one with scattered diamonds on their website is a knife-edge - I don''t like knife edge.
3) The Mark Morrell discussed recently on PS has al I want in one ring. But I don''t know if I will be able to wear a w-band with it and if I get the WF w-band if it will go with Mark''s setting. Of more concern is how much a custom setting of his will cost - we are definitely on a buget here.

Isn''t it a custom model? If so, I guess they could scatter diamonds like that on a simple band that does match your ring of choice

Maya - my wife wears a plain 3mm comfort fit w-band. It sits pretty flush with her e-ring even without the funny Vatche shape. I think the WF band would go with it. It''ll depend on how wide your cushion is.
