This is gobsmacking, if that's even a word.

I had no idea it would be this complicated, time consuming, thorough, and expensive.
Around 100 died, but the survivors must really be going through hell now. :((

Very cool graphics...

I had no idea so much went into a cleanup. And we wonder why things dont happen any faster. Makes sense when its all
spelled out. I do hope that people/owners get to keep their property and rebuild at some point (if that's what they want).
I've heard rumors of the land being confiscated. :cry:

Thank you for sharing this! I've forwarded it to people I know who live in Maui. Fortunately, they weren't personally affected, so were able to volunteer in a number of ways.

The Disney graphic article linked at the bottom is great, too.

It is still unbelievable to me that the majority of Lahaina is gone. We have many happy memories of time spent there.
It was such a vibrant and lively town, with so much charm.
I hope the locals can rebuild without big foreign entities grabbing up the land for high priced condos and resorts.
