Fine, no Sarin. Get him to measure the crown height manually.

Friends... I have purchased the setting.. it is beautiful...
I saw the first Asscher again and took pictures myself this time. I have attached one:
The Bowties (I think thats what it is called) are so fine that you can see the squares very clearly-- I love that. I am off to San Diego to picture the other stone, but I remember it having a large face but fat bowties... Comments on the bowties??

They're called windmills.

Whether you like them fat or skinny is your call.

Congrats on the setting.

That is the same asscher as the pictures you posted first? It doesn''t look like the same to me because the windmills are super narrow... not a look I am fond of at all but if you love it then congrats. I only hope your gf doesn''t notice the inclusions in an SI2 like you...

I used the suggestions on Pricescope as guidelines in helping me make a decision.
I think most people are not really aware of the difference between VS1 and SI2, so as long as I could not see the inclusions with my eye it didn''t matter too much.

I just flew back from San Diego, and I went with the diamond that had the biggest surface area on top. It was a G, and actually had nice brilliance and fire. I could see the difference in size, and the one thing that I know the average person is aware of is size! (smile).

I will send Pictures once its set!!!

Thanks to everyone!!

oh i LOVE thin windmills....that asscher looks divine pattern-wise to my non-asscher owning eyes..... but that is not the one you chose? please do post pictures and when it''s done!! congrats!

These have not been set, so its just the diamond sitting on top of the Setting.

Here is the fine windmill stone

This the fat windwill top down. You can see the size difference as this stone doesn''t fall into the setting, but is too large for it as it is now. it is actually .01 ct less than the other stone. The lighting was more difficult for this one... so the pictures are not as clear. Again it has to small feathers in the back.

I got the ring yesterday, but needed natural light to take the picture.

I leave on Wed to Paris to surprise her @ the airport (she doesn''t expect me) and then to propose later during dinner.
Comments??!
Thanks for all your help for such an important purchase for me and my gf.

OMG that''s a gorgeous asscher and the setting is stunning as well. A proposal in Paris, how romantic!! Have a great trip, can''t wait to see the hand pics when you get back!!!

wow, a surprise proposal in Paris..she''s going to be shocked and the ring is just perfect.

Pictures from Paris! 4 in all... here is the first with the hand view. This ring is too big and has to be resized, but everything was perfect. I surprised her in Frankfurt at the airport, we took the flight over to Paris... Went sight seeing and then off to Dinner @ Georges-- with a view of the city. After she said yes, the Eiffle Tower sparkled unexpectedly! She is SOO happy with the band!!! Thanks again!!
