I was once told that a better clarity stone can look one, possibly even two colors better. (Example: GIA triple Ex. VVS2 H diamond can look more like an SI1 G.) I can't seem to find anything to back that up. Reason I'm asking is, I'm having a wedding band made and the jeweler is going to use avg. SI2 H stones and the E-ring stone is a VVS2 H round. Will the wedding band diamonds look more yellow than the E-ring, even though they are the same color? Should I have them use G color? If it is a bit more yellow, will that be very bad looking, or will it be close enough not to notice? Or, will the slight difference just make the solitaire look better?

I haven't heard that and doubt two Gs will look different from each other. I'd be more worried about loss of light return on SI2 stones

Color won't affect clarity or vice versa. I too would be more concerned about the SI2 clarity of the wedding band stones. Can he find at least H, VS2 stones to use?

I can check. It will be a very small band. 2mm thickness and roughly 2mm tall with stones half way around. Total carat weight will be less than .30. Very small stones.

I still wouldn't use SI2 stones in a wedding band. Poor clarity can affect light return. There's no issue being a color grade different between a wedding and and engagement ring. The tiny stones don't really show much color if they are well cut. I would insist on excellent cut stones and VS clarity.
