I am nervous. We are about to order my wedding band when it dawned on me that the milgrain probably won''t match up perfectly (since my e-ring and w-band are made by different people). Do you think it will be obvious in real life?

I think it will probably blend nicely. Will you be able to return the w-band in case you do not like it? I''m excited to see it! You mentioned on the other thread princess eternity band? Sounds lovely!

HI, T,

Which one are you going to order? Milgrain should be so tiny that I wouldn''t think it would matter. Of course, it is easier if it is one you can return. If you are having it made at KP, will they let you return it if you don''t like it? Dimend Scaasi has a bead set band with rounds that has engraving and milgrain and a channel set princess with milgrain. Did you look at bands at Diamonds Direct when you and your FI went there?

This was one of the reasons DH and I scrapped my first e-ring. It didnt have a matching w-band so the jeweler had one that was very close but the milgrain was a bit smaller on the w-band. In all honesty, you couldnt tell visually unless you really scrutinized hard, and it did make the e-ring look like it had more "presence" but it was one of those "mind clean" issues for me, im very matchy matchy so it would have bugged me.

have you been able to compare your e-ring milgrain to the one on the band and see how they look together? Is it being custom made? can they take your e-ring as a sample and try to use a milgrain tool that is similar in size? can you return it if you dont like it?

it does sound like a lovely ring!

gail- yes I have decided on a princess e-band channel set. I was really nervous about going with a bead set band (since I have lost a melee) and I like the more stone less metal look of the princess and I feel the channel set makes it more secure. I am excited to see it together too! Argg...it has been such a hard decision since FI told me not to expect any fine jewelery ANY time soon

Janis- I emailed Dimend Scaasi for a quote and they never got back to me

. I DO like the idea of going local in case I have any problems. I doubt KP would let me return it since it is custom order....I could always ask of course.

PunchNPie- I did try on the exact band with RBs instead of PR and thought it looked good. It def. had more of a coin edge than the delicate milgrain on my Tacori. I am probably just over obsessing as usual. I just want it to be perfect.

No, I don''t think it will be a noticeable difference in milgrain look between the two bands.

I''m sure it will be! It sounds like such a lovely ring!

I would be so afraid of ordering one without the option to return it especially since you haven''t actually seen one. I think their custom work is so pretty, but ordering something I could not physically see ahead of time worried me, personally.

The miligrain on my rings do not match, but it doesnt bother me at all. I also think it takes an eagle eye to spot that there is a difference. It certainly isnt something you can see without having the rings in your face and comparing the two.

I''m sure there will hardly be a difference...I think it just comes down to whether knowing that there *is* a small difference is going to really bug the heck out of you. That''s for you to decide.

Thanks everyone. I told my jeweler my concern so we found a band with matching milgrain (as my e-ring) that he is going to send (so they can match it up AND I don''t have to give up my e-ring for 3 weeks!!!!) So its ordered!!! I''ll be sure to post hand shots when I finally get it
