You guys are the worst influence EVER. My husband is out of town and I am having too much PS screen time. So please talk me out of these.

Swiss topaz-window right?

Pink Tourmaline Pair- because I don't even wear earrings and will never get them set. But OMG they look so lovely.

Brazilian Tourmaline (trend anyone). I really want an emerald but so not in the cards right now so will this sate my green needs?

Or him same type as above but 4.62 and greener maybe, certainly deeper?

Or this fellow Namibian Tourmaline.

Do they take returns on sale items?

I bought one of those Brazilian tourmalines last year. It’s incredibly dark and only in the brightest light shows the greens as shown in those photos, otherwise it’s just about black. It was cheap enough that I just kept it as a learning stone and didn’t bother sending it back, but I wouldn’t buy it again.

Wonder why - I also bought a mint tourmaline from him that was far more gorgeous than in the pictures and is still one of my favorites.

My guess is those green tourmalines are going to be pretty dark. I have a blueish-green similar in hue from one of their previous sales.

It doesnt really go black, but I wouldnt want it any darker, and those photos look like darker material.

I’ve never gotten to setting it.. maybe I should put it on LT..

This picture is really pretty! But it rarely looks this green? I’m surprised because I find Mastercut’s photos to be some of the most true to life I’ve ever seen.

That photo was mine and is fairly accurate to the stone looking its best. It’s usually green, even indoors.

Here’s the vendor pic for comparison. All the greens above look darker to me than this

@sydneyatl l thank you, I couldn't quite tell. Everyone says his pictures are true to hue but you never know. I suspect your may be from the same rough, since he did comment that it had a really dark C axis.

@Hivona that was what I was assuming too

@CSpan I’m not sure if you saw this, but Rachelle posted a video of green tourmalines today on Instagram. Here’s a screenshot

@2Neezers that is so funny I was JUST watching that. I guess enough people must have been pestering them. I do agree that the rectangular stones are going to be dark as all get out once set. Debating the little square fellow.

No problem! I’m out of town but will take a picture when I get back. Like I said, I’ve only bought two stones from him and one was much worse than the photo and one was much better than the photo, so ‍I dunno, lol!

First purchase from MCG - great service. Wasn't certain about this yellow sapphire, but it is way better than the listing photos (IMO). Little blue zircons were a gift - nice touch! @mrs-b the cushions are being courted by new stones, this unheated yellow included...

@AmethystHope -

That combo looks STUNNING!!
:appl:Yes, I think so too. It's both strange and neat how projects can change... for the better!
The pink sapphire is going into a bangle now, with a custom cut tourmaline. I won't derail this thread any further - but looking forward to updating the pink thread when the bangle is complete.

Ok here are a few pictures of the three gems I got from the sale. The garnet is dark but for some reason I really like it. It does sparkle nicely in person but I couldn’t seem to capture it in a picture.

the aqua is pretty & not like anything else in my collection. Unfortunately it doesn’t look anything like a Paraiba!

The heliodore (closest to knuckles) is pictured with two other heliodores cut by Barry Bridgestock (emerald cut &middle round). They are all bright but the Mastercut heliodore is more yellow & a bit brighter. The BB gems look more golden.
