Hi all, I just dropped off my diamond earrings with a local guy here who not only had the right size martini settings in stock, but gave me a fantastic price to reset my stones. $60! Other local stores wanted $150-200. This guy is good too--I''ve used him in the past for various things. And he''s right down the street from my house. He said he''d have them ready for me in the morning. Yay--I can''t wait!!

I think I''ll also have him do a new appraisal for me on my new ering/wband set now that it''s finally complete.

awesome!!!! Come back and post pics, pls

Awesome, take lots of pics for us!!!!

What a great price!!! I can''t wait to see them, please come back with ear shots!

I actually like the idea of real martinis almost as much as the earrings! :-) Matter of fact, this might just call for one tonight. I''m thinking appletini maybe... :-)
I thought this was a great price too. I called 5 or 6 places and all of them were willing to order the settings but it was going to take about a week to have them in my hot, impatient little hands, and the price for doing it ranged from $100 or so up to over $200 with the local shops!

I''m picking them up at 10:30 this morning, so I''ll try to post some shots this afternoon. They may not be ear shots--not sure I can take an ear shot myself and my hubby may not be here this afternoon to help! But at the very least, I''ll take a photo in my hands so you''ll have some frame of reference about the size!

I had a horrible time trying to upload these photos for some reason! Sorry it took me so long! I love the martinis. They look great on--but it was too hard to get a photo of my own ear. So here are a few shots for you...

Love the new martini settings! So unobtrusive and dainty!
How do they look in your ears?
The size is PERFECT!

Enjoy and wear them in good health!

!!

Had you previously had regular studs...if so what is your favorite aspect of the new Martini design? The reason I ask, is I have a SIL who has elongated lobes and her piercing is unfortunately also low. So she is reluctant to wear studs. I wanted to let her know about this design because I feel it rests in the ear...as apposed to on it.

I am thrilled you have a pair of new sparkles. Yeah!! We need another round...for all of us!

Thanks all! To answer questions--they look awesome on! I like them so much better than the baskets with the screw backs. The jeweler put really tight backs on them and told me if I don''t clearly hear that "click" when I put them on, to not wear them! They are very tight--I''d have to rip my ear off to pull them out I think!

My favorite aspect of them is first, that there is so little metal showing. Second, that the point of the "martini glass" kindof settles down into your piercing. Third, that the edge of the stone is so visible and crisp looking. And fourth--no more screw backs!! They really do sort of "float" on your ear. I''m so happy with them--that was $60 well spent. And he even gave me credit for the old settings, which I told him I didn''t want any more. So I got another $8 off the price!

So purdy and elegant. I''m really wanting some now.

I''m so glad you like them! I hated being a little negative in my earlier post about the point of the martini glass enlarging the holes, but I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this. You are right in that they seem to float, which is so pretty. I''m just worried that over time they will make my holes larger and larger. I must be hallucinating, but I swear they seem to have done "something" to mine-cause when I take them out my holes look like they have little lines all around and have become a little larger. Yikes, I hope this is just an illusion. Maybe I''m just getting old!
