Alternately, not only is Zambabwe saying they are well into the process of proceeding to sell their diamonds without the blessing of KP, and therefore, being without certificates...

What I think needs to happen...is that those who value the KImberley Process need to invest themselves in some communications protocols, to get the word out that the KP has value enough that people must ask for those certificates...and tell consumers why they must. An educational effort is necessary, independent of what does or does not happen with Zimbabwe.

Unless I read the analysis incorrectly, I read from the second article above: "With Zimbabwe now projected to contribute around 25 percent of the global diamond output," suggesting the potential impact of these diamonds being huge, if dumped at a reduced price, inasmuch as they may be without KP certification.

I of course may be reading the information incorrectly, or am misapplying what I am reading...in which case...please tell me so.

But, I am reading that containment efforts have to this point failed, there will be diamonds...or at least those marked correctly...with and without KP certificates...and the resulting effort and story now must be for those concerned with both KP, and frankly, the ability to sell their own stocks, will be to help consumers value having a KP certificate.

At least, that is how I read these times.
