I don''t recall ever posting my ring so I though I would finally do so. It is a 1.25 marquise diamond in a yellow gold setting. I''m thinking of resetting it but I get many compliments on it so I keep ?????? why I want to.

If *YOU* want a different setting go for it! Who cares what everyone else says.

It''s a very pretty stone and I like the current setting. That being said, if you are ready for a change then go for it.

It is a gorgeous diamond and a very pretty setting. There is nothing wrong with a new ring if that is what you want to do though.

Your set is very pretty but I feel that a thinner band would do more justice to the magnificent center stone

It would really make the diamond POP!

I love your marquise! It looks so sparkly and bright. I agree with akmiss: a thinner band might show off that lovely stone a little more, but your current setting is very pretty, too.

Your ring is really unique and quite gorgeous, but I agree with the others about the thinner band. It kind draws away from the stone. The stone will look much larger with a slightly thinner band.

I love it, and would love to see it with a scattered diamond band, just for fun.

Your ring is very pretty but I know sometimes we all want a change. I changed my setting in Sept after wearing the previous setting for 13 years. I have seen some really pretty east/west marquise lately. Have you looked at any settings yet?

I thought I would add a few more photos that I took yesterday morning. I do wear my ring a lot without my wedding band so I thought I would share those. I have thought of resetting to an E/W setting but DH isn''t convinced. Also, I go back and forth between white gold and yellow gold. I may just reset it in a plain thin cathedral setting and get an eternity band. Your thoughts on yellow or white gold??? Most of my jewelry is in yellow gold.

HI:

I lurve marquise! A thin band with marquise, baguette or pear sides would be a grand reset! Keep the mount and put a blue sapphire in it!

WOW!!!!! Your stone is gorgeous and looks even bigger than 1.25!!! Personally I like it as is, or reset with just the center portion of the ER and not the sides - I think YG looks great and you could still wear your wb with it.

The past season of the Bachelor, the only thing that wasn''t controversial was the Neil Lane ER he gave the first fiance. It was set east/west in platinum and it was so beautiful. Your diamond is magnificent. Maybe you should take a look at that ring. There are pictures of it on the internet.

That is a great marquise. Pretty setting too, but if you''re ready for a change, why not?

Maybe this will help. My 1-carat Marquise is set in a thin channel set cathedral band, and I have it paired with a bead-set eternity band. I''ll attach some pics. The first one is on a fencepost, sorry it looks kind of ragged!
