I have to say that I''m discomfited by her proximity. She does seem to be perpetually high. She once wandered into traffic dressed in nothing but a man''s shirt. The doorman had to retrieve her.

That is pretty sad for her and scary for those of you who live around her. Not only is she a danger to herself but who knows what kind of people might show up looking for her. She was lucky the doorman helped get her out of harm''s way.

Any new gemstone or ring projects in the works?

I''m concerned about running into her in an out-of-control state. Any advice?

Yes. Gotta run, but I''ll chat with you later.

That would be scary. I have no idea how you would deal with some one hopped up on drugs. They aren''t rational so who knows what will work. Can they evict her for something like that?

Take care and watch out for crazy neighbors. I spent hours last night cleaning house and decluttering our computer room. I am going to enjoy my clean house this weekend. DH is out of town for a few more days.

Hi Marcy,

How's your weekend so far? Do you like alone time?

My landlord probably could evict her on grounds of illegal activity, but eviction in New York takes a long time. I called the city hotline and was told I could report her to Adult Protective Services or the NYPD. I spoke with the latter, who offered to come over immediately. I declined as I didn't want to enrage her. I'm stumped and I'm not easily frightened.

We need a fun gem project!

Hi Harriet. Yes and no to liking alone time. I get a lot done when Marty is out of town but I get bored too. My house is always cleaner when he is gone because I like to clean when I am bored. During golf season (about 4 months here) I have a very clean house.

Sounds like the red tape of kicking someone out is a lengthy and difficult process. I guess I would play it by ear; if she starts to bother you then maybe call the police to come deal with her. That is too bad and sad for her she has such a problem. Glad you aren''t easily frightened. Marty is from the D.C. area and sure taught me a few things about dealing with crowds and big cities. A guy was going after me with a knife in Denver one time and I didn''t even pay attention to him. We were leaving a fast food and I was blathering, had my purse wide open and was taking care of money. I was about 10 steps ahead of Marty because he was throwing away our trash. The guy was leaning against the wall with his hands behind his back and started to move towards me as I came out. Marty steps outside about then and stars him right in the face; he backed down and backed up. I never saw any of it. I was given the be aware of your surroundings and look people in the eye lesson pretty much the entire way home that day. I am at least more cautious and observant than I used to be. Sad our society has made that necessary.

Yes, we do need a gem project. Any ideas?

Yes. The doggies get more affectionate then.

My thoughts exactly. I''ll wait till she''s obviously high and then make a police report. It''s sad. Her not having to work for a living may in fact be bad for her. Yikes! Were you scared? Marty rocks!

No.

Do you have any gems to set that we can brainstorm about?

I am glad you have the doggies to keep you company. I just have a few stuffed animals around. I am allergic.

I hope you never have to deal with her when she is really high. Sad to live that way.
I wasn''t really scared because I didn''t know what was going on. That was in my very obese days too so I looked like a very easy target. Yes, Marty does rock. He''s 6''4" and pretty muscular so most people wouldn''t want to pick a fight with him if they have any brains at all. He''s former military too so he says he may get hurt but he''s going to win and he''s not going to play fair.
I have an 8 x 6 mm ametrine EC I keep toying with having mounted in a ring but don''t know if I want to spend the money on it right now. I would love an aqua asscher about 6mm but that would be hard to find. What projects are you working on these days?

Boo to allergies. I''m glad to hear that I''m not the only adult with stuffed animals.

You know that I''m off to hunt for an aqua asscher for you now, right?

I don''t have any personal projects at the moment, but have started volunteering at a museum and am working on a project there. Believe it or not, it involves photography!

Btw, do you have a link to the light box you have?

I love stuffed animals but only have a few. Cute bunnies, Garfield and Snoopy.

All right for hunting down aqua asschers. Thanks. Sounds like working at the museum will be fun. I know you don''t want to go in to details but what type of project are you working on? Minerals, Gemstones, Rocks, Diamonds?

I sure don''t have the link to the light box we bought. If I get a chance tonight I will go look for it for you.

Harriet, here is the link: Litebox

Minerals. Thanks for your understanding that I have to be discreet.

You found the link! Merci.

Harriet no worries and you are welcome. Ooh for taking pictures.

Hi Harriet! It''s good to hear from you. I am doing great thanks. How about you? We were on a working vacation last week and got home Sunday. I spent that day unpacking our trailer and doing a ton of laundry. Monday I went out and got ready for the classes I teach, Tuesday the online class started and yesterday the campus class started. I seem to be crazy busy but it keeps me out of trouble.

What new jewelry projects and pieces are you working on? I am still thinking about an aqua asscher, I want a WG PC diamond ring and WG EC garnet studs and pendant. My wish list seems to grow rather than shrink.

My husband will be traveling a lot over the next few months for work. I will miss him but I know you and my other friends on PS will help keep me busy.

I am off to bed now as I haven''t had much sleep this week. I keep staying up to late and today I was yawning all the time. I hope to hear back from you soon.

Exhausted, but will write later.

Yay Marcy! I didn''t know you had a thread. Guess I don''t look around much, huh?. I''m off to do some reading... Gosh - 14 pages!! I''ve conked out before 9:30 the last few nights, so we''ll see how long I can stay awake tonight! Hope you''re still keeping plenty busy while Marty''s away.

How was your Christmas???

I have been meaning to tell you, that I LOVE your new orange sapphire jewelry, it is gorgeous. I bet you get a lot of compliments on them.

Did you have a nice Christmas?? We did, the boys were excited as usual.

I haven''t posted much, I am busy with them and trying to catch up with other things.

We did go camping for a week and boy was it nice. It was soooooo cold though, but our 5th wheel was nice and warm and cozy, ha ha ha.

Love, Linda

Linda, I just saw your post from last year. OMG! How are you doing? I went to the Tucson gem show on Thursday and though of you when I saw a few pad sapphires. Did you do much camping last summer?
