Making band from Titanium.....

Hello everyone! My husband''s friend has a "block of titanium" ( to directly quote my DH) I guess just laying around. He is interested in fashioning a part of it into a man''s wedding band. I have no idea how thick or anything else. He wants to know who he could take it to to have this done? A bench jeweler perhaps?? As far as I know, he doesn''t want any stones put in it. Should he just call around to some jewelers, or who should he be contacting?

You could cut bits off it and inlay them into a gold band
