VERY EXCITING!!!

Lots of house dust outgoing! For a second I was thinking ... wow, you lucked out too ... by the time you move in the whole season of grass-mowing will be almost over. Then I remembered you''re in Texas. Ah well ...

We currently use someone very good for lawncare, who doesn''t charge an arm and a leg, and I think we''ll just keep him employed, rather than buy the mower. The hubs is not mechanically inclined. I''m afraid of injury. He comes by it honestly; his dad once cut through the cords of two electric clippers in one afternoon.

In this part of TX, in the summer, we only mow every two or three weeks, anyway. No rain. You guys are baling hay by that time!

And sorry to tell you, when you get the house, it doesn''t go away for a while, because all of a sudden you realize that you BOUGHT A HOUSE!!!

I''m hoping a couple of days of not hearing means they''re considering. After all, they could have rejected the offer outright.

Did you put a time limit on the offer? We always put that it was only good for 24 hours.

I definitely think that no news is good news, in this case!

Sorry they''re really making you wait, Holly! We had this happen with one of the offers we put in on a house. It''s really unprofessional of their agent not to at least let you know what''s going on.

I hope you hear back soon!!!

Well, as we found out later, the offer didn't go in on Monday as we thought. We had to sign another two pages of something-or-other. So it actually went in Tuesday PM, we were told. So, we should hear back tomorrow, according to our agent.

The property is vacant, the owners long gone; maybe it took a bit of doing to actually get them contacted with our offer. Who knows. Their agent is one of two women in town who make millions each year in sales commisions, so I would assume she's got her stuff together. I just hope she doesn't want to take our heads off!

Our agent and the listing agent are playing telephone tag! Aaaargh!

My cell phone is literally inches from my nose here on the desk so I won''t miss THE CALL. I couldn''t choke down lunch if I tried. Maybe the stress of buying, and moving, and settling will help me shed a few pounds. We can hope.

(At least we accepted their counteroffer which is just at our top price of $145K. There are other people looking at the house, and I hope we beat them to it by accepting the counter. So keep that dust coming.
