Hi everyone! I''ve been holding out on you with my wedding pics but I finally have some to post and wanted to share.

My DH and I were engaged in Aug 06 and we were wed in Maine in Aug 07 at our family''s farm. My mother planned the whole wedding and I was the luckiest bride ever! We had a whole weekend of events including swimming at the cove on my family''s property and a rehearsal lobster feast at a beautiful seaside restaurant followed by a sunset cruise with Champaign, chocolate covered strawberries, and a great jazz band (4 guys) hired from the local high school. The wedding day started with rain but turned gorgeous in time for the ceremony which was held in a historic German church guilt in the 1700s. The church is no longer in use since there''s no electricity or running water. But they do allow weddings to take place there and my parents were married there nearly 30 years ago on the same weekend. It was really special to do the wedding there since my father passed away when I was young and it felt like a way to include him.

The reception was held in a tent in the back yard of my family''s farm. We had a wonderful buffet dinner and a reggae band. The band showed up 4 hours late but it worked out fine since no one was ready to dance until then anyway :-)

Here are some pics for you. The first one is of my girlfriends helping button me up. I didn''t have any wedding party but three of my closest friends helped me get ready which was wonderful.

Here''s the back of my gown - it was a Judd Waddell dress. Very comfy and I felt beautiful all day

My earrings were my something borrowed, and something blue. When my sweetheart proposed, he did so with beautiful diamond studs since he wanted me to be able to pick out my ring setting myself and we had a family stone that we wanted to use. I really wanted to wear them in the wedding but I wanted more dramatic earrings so my mother gave me a diamond and aqua marine pendant for my birthday which she had a little loop added to and my step father gave her the same pendant for her bday which is one week after mine. So I was able to put the studs through the loop of mine for one ear, and she lent me hers for the other ear. :-) I thought they were beautiful!

my husband gave me this necklace as my wedding gift - it''s from blue nile and I wear it all the time!

my twin brother walked me down the isle - it was so surreal to be standing there right where my parents had stood... I was so glad to have my brother there to give me away. You''ll see here that I don''t have a bouquet because I completely forgot it at the farm! My bro and I were the last to leave and I left it right on the kitchen counter - oops!! I think I would have fiddled with it if I had had it so perhaps it was for the best.

here''s a view of the church inside - the pews are square with benches all around and they all have little doors. It was kinda funny since some folks ended up sitting sideways for the ceremony.

Congrats! It sounds like you had a lovely wedding. Both pictures are great, but I really like the first picture of your friends buttoning you up. You should include that picture in the thank you cards to your friends.

ETA: I just noticed the new pictures you posted. They are all great shots. Wow! I am happy for you.

Just married! SOOO happy!

We went back down to the shore after the ceremony to get some pics by the water. Here one of us in the woods that you have to walk through to get to the cove.

Beautiful! Congrats. I see it was a gorgeous day too!

We made our entrance by running up from the field that leads down to the woods and water to the tent where everyone was enjoying cocktails.

My step-nephew rang that bell to get everyone out of the tent for our entrance as Mr & Mrs.

here''s what it looked like inside the tent. We hid the ugly stabilizing pole in the middle of the tent with birch saplings which we put twinkle lights in. And we strung little red Chinese lanterns along the perimeter. And large red lanterns were hung in the middle.

The tables were decorated with different colored pashminas (fake) criss-crossing. Begonias in little pink pots were our flowers with nice little square candles around those. The favors were Mets caps for the guys (my husband and I met at Shea Stadium) and different colored pashminas for the ladies. Those were hung over their chair backs.

What beautiful pictures. I love the old church and cemetery. How special to be married where your parents were and on the same weekend. Congratulations.

Thanks gtn, ang, shigi, and sweetpea!!

I loved my dress too! And I thought it was the most wonderful wedding ever - not that I'm biased or anything

My mom seriously did everything and I could not have been happier. Certainly there were some issues such as me forgetting my bouquet and the band showing up hours late, but I was just so happy to be there, surrounded by all my loved ones, getting married to the most wonderful person... It was an amazing day and I'm one REALLY lucky girl!!

ETA: Thanks Oshin!

Everything just looks amazing! Wonderful pictures.. and I love the necklace!
