I think that this is an incredible achievement for your state and your country. I am very happy to see some gains for equal rights.

In 2009, our then governor signed a bill legalizing same sex marriage but then it was overturned through referendum. This year, it was voted in as a straight question, not as approval/disapproval of a bill passed in the legislature.
It's a subtle difference, but enough of one to make we Mainers who supported it all along run around saying We're first! We're first!![]()
