I have a setting that used to hold a 6.7x6.7 stone, I'd like to buy something at or near those dimensions to reset it. Open to a rectangular stone near those dimensions too.

I have a 2.13 ct 7.40 x 6.59 x 5.62mm AIGS Certified Jedi Spinel that I would consider selling. It may be too long for your setting though.

There are also some transparent inclusions, but in normal viewing you don't see them.

Anyway, LMK if you’re interested and I can post some better photos and videos:

@Dr_Diesel the stone is gorgeous! What are you looking for it? I need to do some research to see if the length will be a problem.

@Dr_Diesel that stone is GORGEOUS!!!

It’s got great color, size, strong fluorescence and exceptional cutting. The only downside is that it is not as clean as I would like it to be.

I suppose it’s kind of an upside too, as it’s the only factor that kept the price anywhere near affordable for me. In perfectly material, these are fetching 5 figures now.

Here it is with backlighting, so it’s about what you see with a loupe:

It’s almost inexplicably eye-clean however.

I suppose the combination of vivid color, high brilliance and transparent inclusions really works. It faces up quite well.

I wasn’t committed to selling it just yet so I have to look at what I paid for the stone, the certificate and all that.

Can I update you later today or tomorrow?

In the meantime, maybe that’ll give you a chance to check into the setting. It’s about 0.7 mm longer than the previous stone, so that might be an issue.

Meanwhile, here are some videos that may help you get a better feel for the stone.

It’s near perfect in every way, Even the quality of the crystal is exceptional. It’s a rare find, especially over the 2ct mark.

So it really comes down to how you feel about it not being perfectly clean. Some people are fine with it and other people are not. You just need to figure out where you sit on that issue.

Goodness what a stone! I wouldn't mind the inclusions at all for that look! :kiss2:

Yeah, I wasn’t really looking to buy a Jedi, but a friend gave me a heads up that he was selling it and I pounced. They’re just so hard to come by in reasonable sizes and quality.

@Dr_Diesel add me to the list of interested parties.:kiss2:

@mintbark apologies for any thread derailment here.

I'm afraid to ask the price, but that's a grail stone.

OMG this is drop dead gorgeous!!! It has the same feathers and apatite inclusions as my 2 from Namya! Could it possibly be from the Namya mines as well?

I don’t know the origin and didn’t see the rough, so it’s possible. AIGS just said that it’s from Myanmar.

@CBianco I do not see any sulfur inclusions, which seem to be the signature of Manin spinel, and the color is not typical for Mogok….so you may very well be onto something there!

The one in my avatar is also AIGS vivid reddish pink with the jedi designation, which isn't telling much but the inclusions are so eerily similar! I've heard Namya ones are rarely clean too, practically all have inclusions. So there's a chance, lol!

Sorry for the thread jack!

Just posted this stone and a 1.24ct Red Vietnam spinel in the Preloved Forum!

@Dr_Diesel the stone is gorgeous! What are you looking for it? I need to do some research to see if the length will be a problem.

I finally did the math. It works out to $5698.50 for the stone ($2675/ct)

@mintbark - Are you interested or no? You're first in line.

I also posted a red Vietnam spinel (flame spinel?) that's *might* work for you, but is probably too small (6.43x4.94x4.50mm).

It's not a Jedi, but shows nice strong fluorescence.

@ItsMainelyYou - just for fun, I photoshopped this one into your favorite GIA photo ;-)

Wow they're both amazing! I just made a large purchase so the Jedi is definitely out of budget. I'd go all for the other one if the sizing were right!

See?! That's what I'm talking about!

I have a few years before I can buy anything with the kids in school and by the time I'm ready, it will be even further out of budget- but if I could, I would buy this stone.
