Lower Mainland, BC, Ring Resizing

Anyone know of a reputable dealer that will resize a size 7 platinum ring down to a 6.5 or 6? I am located in Vancouver, BC.

Are there any risks involved with getting this done? It is a platinum band.

I've used Expert Casting downtown on Granville between Georgia and Robson. They're a workshop only -- not a retail jewelry store. They have a laser welder and did a very nice job sizing my ring. There's also Bruce Wilson in West Van.

As for whether there is risk, best to ask the jeweler whether sizing will compromise the integrity of the pave down the shank. I doubt it given that it's not going down in size very far, but I'm not an expert. Good luck!

Be sure you need to resize it before you do That is a small increment to resize and once it is warm weather and you add a wedding band you might not need to resize it after all.

Harlings Vancouver is well known, I know they have a bench on staff. I would make sure the sizing includes tightening of the prongs as that style is prone to loosening when being sized down (sidestones especially).
