Hi guys!

Ok I have to get this out....love the ring ...NOT really the one wearing it.

Can anyone help with the size? For an emerald it looks wide but I love that about it. Maybe 12 x 10...11
I tried to post multiple pics and other rings beside it to get an idea
I have fallen in love with this timeless style.

Thanks for your help

Mrs. Trump's ER is a square EC. The l x ratio is somewhere between 1.20-1.30-ish, and is more square or squatty than rectangular, and elongated.
It's 15cts. Dimensions for a 1ct rectangular EC average around 7x5mm. To get the squatty dimensions, you'd have to put the width diameter around the 0.5-0.7-ish mark. If it's 12mm in length, it is likely 10.5+mm wide.

Thanks

thank you!!! what a great response
so do you think I could get this look 6-7 carat EC 12x10 ish or 13x11
but to make sure its squatty make it 12x10.5 or maybe 12x10.7 Am I getting this right?
Or if you could post a diamond from JA you think would work? This is hard stuff:pray::pray:

This is an example of a square Emerald (squatty) Cut Diamond.
The dimensions are 12.06 x 9.03 with a l x w ratio of 1.33:1

https://www.pricescope.com/diamonds/emerald/6_07-carat-d-color-vvs1-clarity-3709159

So, to be more specific, the closer to 0.03-0.08, the more square the EC will be. My apologies for the erroneous dimension info, above. The closer to 0.5-0.8, the more rectangular & the more slender the diamond becomes....
Make sense?

As mentioned previously, a more square emerald cut would have a length to width ratio of 1.3 or less; the closer the number is to 1 the closer to square it is.
The ratio is calculated by dividing the length measurement by the width; in your example 12/10 = 1.2
Some online sites let you search by the ratio as an advanced feature.

I think the other thing those have in common is very high color (E+), if that matters to you. Melania's looks more colored in that photo than in any other photo or in reality.

One thing all such large solitaire rings will have is the spinning you see on those pictures when set. The stone is simply top heavy and naturally falls to the side. Steven Kirsch has a lovely 3-stone setting (many have a version), that provides a "rest" for the adjacent fingers to help self-correct the ring by simply wiggling them. This feature of the shanks helps keep the ring upright (and avoids a pointy tail prong if you like a pear or other pointy side stone). The only way to help avoid the spinning for a solitaire would be a wide shank or multiple shanks ("split shank").

Do you have a budget? We can find the biggest out there in your budget.

What a beauty that is! Now, if I only had an extra $150,000 lying around I would totally snatch that:lol:

:wavey:I agree it is a very elegant and timeless look

strong blue....should that scare me? it is pretty and i think it may give me the look I want

thank you for asking I would love the help I really wanted to stay at 100...It looks like I might have to go up to 150..
What are your most important wants in order out of size, color, clarity, cut quality and ratio?

I think this is the kind of ratio you’re looking for and a good size; but still about half the overall weight of your reference pics - https://www.adiamor.com/Diamonds/6....D40810487?utm_source=rarecarat&utm_medium=cpc
lol someone else posted that same diamond. It is beautiful but I was worried about the strong flo. Should I be?
Size and color are important!!! I am drawn to E for some reason. i want that top heavy squarish look with the delicate diamonds on the side. Its is so clean and timeless:love:
my budget is far from 3 million....lol although it will be half the size of Ms trumps ring I have a size 4 ring finger sooooooo maybe it will look larger:D

This is what one source says about the fluorescence. I’m not sure that’s entirely coherent with the history of blue-white diamonds but the point is you will either love or hate the sbf and yes it will alter the appearance of your diamond in UV light. It won’t be cloudy or milky from adiamor, they exclude those ones.

Thank you everyone!!! Any other diamonds? I do not think strong blue flor will work for me.....I know myself every 2 sec ill be looking at it thinking is it blue?:o no its not... wait is it?

I cant do that to my self lol

Can you just clarify your budget as there’s a big difference between 100 and 150. What’s your best realistic figure?

You may need to reconsider E color if you want the size. Bear in mind that anything up to G will appear the same white to the human eye. I would ask for this diamond to be brought in for inspection for two reasons - it has the kind of ratio you want which I believe is 1.3 or less. It has a large face size and it will be white at G color. You need to see the inclusions to assess and look at its light return. I would it buy a diamond at this price without viewing it. Are you willing to fly to New York for a buying trip if you don’t already live there?

I forgot to post the link but that’s ok, it’s not in budget.
