Loupetroop has been down for me for a couple of days.
Diamondbistro is also down for me as of today.
Are there any other places that people have used to sell??
A reminder that we do not allow people to post social media handles here, hence IG is not a viable option for selling on Pricescope. This is for everyone's safety as we cannot monitor social media accounts to make sure they are truly private.
Hi everyone. I am also really frustrated by LT being down for updates for long periods of time multiple times a year. I do not want to offer or say anything inappropriate or offensive but I would be willing to create and maintain an instagram page for pricescope sales. I could take submissions for listings/posts to this new instagram page via Google Forms and I would be responsible for making new listings and removing sold listings from the page based off submissions via Google Forms and emails that I receive. People would fill out the form with their item’s description, price, contact email, and pictures and/or videos of the their item. This would take a decent amount of time to maintain so I would have to charge a small fee ($2 per listing). I would be happy to do this and I think it would eliminate issues of a website that constantly goes down for updates and a website that gets spammed. If this is something that people are interested in or not interested in, please let me know!
Contact them directly or report your own post to do so to ask what’s allowed here vs not, I think would be prudent.
A few members have offered to start a different version of selling platform as an alternative to LT when periodically this update/down comes up, but as far as I’m aware - none actually have.
DiamondBistro has been gone for weeks/months. I think it's gone for good - it was hosted by BetterThanDiamonds, and other than having a few Amora Gems that they still have left over in inventory for sale, it appears they're not really a functioning entity anymore (although I don't know that for certain).
I wonder if it's time for us to find another platform to post sale items and contact info. This is immensely frustrating. There were items for sale that I'm very interested in, and items that I really need to put up for sale as well.
This is such a frustrating situation! I've waited months for the green light to pull out the stops on helping my son source a sapphire engagement ring. Green light happened on Monday and here we are with no LT! If someone finds an alternative, I would support it. Is Poshmark against PS rules? Thank you
DiamondBistro is now Louped. IMHO what made DB popular is gone and now it feels to me like an Ebay site with buy it now prices. That 20k aquamarine ring? No thank you.
Hmm. Maybe a private Facebook group? Someone(s) would need to be the owner I think, and folks would need to request to join but I think groups have places to post comments/ads? Not really sure as I’m not a big Facebook person myself but I have friends who swear by their local groups that donate/sell things in their neighborhoods.
Louped is not the former DiamondBistro; it's the former I Do, Now I Don't. I agree that everything there is horribly overpriced. I'm fortunate that I picked up a couple things there a few years ago for excellent deals that are gorgeous, high quality, and now core items for me, but I can't imagine buying anything there now. My understanding - which could very well be wrong! - is that while I Do, Now I Don't was a terrific platform in the earlier days for buyers, it was not good at all for sellers, and to "fix" that, rather than reducing the truly exorbitant fees they charged sellers, the platform owners convinced sellers to pass those exorbitant fees on to their buyers.
Folks, we appreciate that everyone is frustrated that these sales venues are down, but we do not allow social media handles or posts here. Such high value items being posted and folks do not realize how quickly someone can find your house to burglarize from social media posts. We try our best to make sure everyone can share safely here.
Additionally charging even a small fee would result in that user needing to register as trade. Something to keep in mind if someone else decides to create a website like loupetroop.
I definitely wouldn't be comfortable with a FB group because of the whole jewelry thing. I'm definitely team it needs to be reasonably anonymous.
IDNID was such a great idea and such a flawed execution. A whole lot of crap with sky-high prices, with only the rare decently-priced thing.
By charging a fee, do you mean we couldn't post on ebay without being considered trade?
