Hi

Twelve years ago I was active on Pricescope and through the help of others and increasing my knowledge about diamonds, I were able to find a great cushion (1.55ct, G, VS1). I loved the ring that Mark T put together for me.

Fast Forward 12 years and I have lost my ring in April. I have looked everywhere and can't find it. Fortunately we have had Chubb insurance and the check for the ring is in the mail.

I have been browsing and the RB diamonds are catching my eye (H&A and AVR specifically). But I have lost my diamond knowledge and need help.

I will appreciate your suggestions for a diamond. 1.5-2.5 ct, G-I color, VS1-SI1 and of course Ideal cut.

I like the Vatche settings and the Caroline and Crown are my favorites.

Hi Karlien -

Can you tell us your budget pls? There's a huge difference between a 2.5ct G VS1 and a 1.5 I colored SI1.

Ball park figure would be good enough.

Hearts and Arrows Diamond is really amazing. If I were you I would definitely buy it.

As much as I love ideal cut MRBs, since you had a cushion cut before, I would recommend you go with an AVR. I think you will miss those chunky flashes. And your budget is very healthy so you can get an awesome AVR!

Btw, I love the Vatche Caroline setting. I have the Corsica which is almost the same except it has double claw prongs and slightly fewer diamonds on the basket to make room for the prongs

I agree with Tophat1. I would look at the AVR and CER. Love my CER!!

I love your CER too, poshmommy!

I took a look at Victor Canera's website and I fell in love. I am in communication with him now. Updates soon!

Eek. You need to look at a MRB next to an OEC-styled diamond asap next to each other. They're so different! I think you have to finalize the style cut before anything else!

Yikes, how will I be able to do that Madelise?

If you can't see the stones in person, ask Victor to take a video of one of each in comparable sizes (hopefully in the size stone you are considering) to see what you think.

Hi
I have the check in hand and don't know what to do now.

Victor Canera doesn't have an European cut in stoock and doesn't expect a batch in the near future. The GOG website doesn't have a August Vintage with my parameters either. (I am waiting for them to contact me). So it is either Whiteflash or Brian Gavin for a round brilliant.

Sigh, choices, choices...

Must you spend this check before clarifying your own personal preferences for MRB or OEC or something else? Jewels by grace has lots of wonderful OECs to look at, as does love affair diamonds. Or old world diamonds. Just cuz victor doesn't have a CER today, doesn't mean you should rush into a diamond purchase If you are unsure. Above you mentioned your original stone was a cushion, but you also like a pear shape, or an AVR. good old gold has some awesome videos on YouTube where you can see different cuts side by side. Take your time (and earn some interest on that $$) while you look for the replacement that you will love and cherish.

That is pretty TopHat1! But this is my chance to have a 2+ ct ring and I am going for it. :-)
