Please bare with me, I''m new to diamonds and these may be stupid questions. I have had three different ering setting over the past few years and have had problems with loose stones. Granted the first time I did hit my hand on the counter and knocked it loose, but the second (and this) time I know I have not hit my diamond...anyways...my questions are:
I recently had my diamond put into a halo setting (got it back two days ago) and heard my stone clicking so I pushed it a little with my finger nail and it moves a tiny amount ( barely visible to the naked eye and felt "clicking" with my fingernail) in the new setting. Is it just the new setting....as the diamond is only held on my the prongs and kind of floating otherwise? Or is this an oversight on the jeweler''s part and should I take it in? Any one with a halo setting have a similar problem?
Second question is, how difficult should it be to loosen a stone, it seems I do it every six months or so!
Thirdly....once a stone is loose, how loose does it have to be before the stone can actually fall out?
Thanks guys!!!
