Hello all! Just looking for advice. I just noticed a tiny dent in my setting. Upper left. It doesn’t appear any of the stones are damaged but now that is see this I can’t unsee it and it is driving me nuts. Is this something that can be fixed? Or am I being neurotic and it isn’t noticeable? Thanks in advance all. Stay well! C6E1042A-B343-4C25-9C66-8521FD65CA2B.jpeg

Just wait a year or 3 and you will not see this dent for the 50 others.
It may be able to be burnished a little straighter, but not raised enough to make you happy.

Not sure what color/phase your state is in due to pandemic (if in the US) but when possible I’d have a jeweler look at it for sure. Just to make sure all the stones are still secure.

Mass, prob will just to make sure the prongs are ok. I try and be cautious with my rings on but I must have banged it at some point. Thanks!

Our rings take a beating. When I sold my wedding set I didn’t realize all the chips/dings it had. With the naked eye it looked intact and in great shape considering I wore the rings everyday for years! When I looked with a loupe it was a different story! Lol

Oh dear! That scares me lol.

Oh no! Don’t be scared at all! My rings were very well made and I never lost a stone or anything. But I have accidentally banged my hand on a doorway once or twice or a bunch of times. Haha
Thanks for the reassurance. I am a clutz!

I’m super clutzy. But that would definitely bother me so I understand that it’s driving you crazy. If it were my ring I would want to see what could be done. Can you post a photo in real life size, it might not be so obvious.

Sure! I don’t think it is noticeable to anyone but me but I will obsess.

Best I can get right now. Phone is about to die so no flash and super swollen summer fingers. Sorry! 38D0CC0A-8691-4460-AC04-0A6E0718E628.jpeg

This is a tad better.

This is a tad better.

Is it a brand new setting? if so it would bother me. Whoever made the ring, ask them if they can fix it (if the setting is new.) If it bothers you know, it will bother you even more in the future as your eyes will always look for it.

Wow, I see what you are seeing. If it were me I would need to have it fixed. I’ve had a lot of rings and I don’t see how it could get that ding short of you slamming it in a car door or something like that. The mounting should be able to hold up to daily wear and tear and if it wasn’t meant for that then the jeweler should’ve advised you when you made your selection. It seems like the metal at the edging wasn’t dense enough???

It is about 2 years old. It is a Sylvie collection.

Right!

The first photo is hugely magnified so I suspect it makes it look a lot worse than it is! I wouldn’t worry about it. How about turning the ring round? It might “blend“ with the edge of your eternity band a bit more.

That would drive me crazy. Take it to a jeweler.

Seriously, send it back to the same jeweller since the mill graining tools all vary a little and if anyone is going to work on it it can and will get worse.
I had a ring in today that would have been similar but no millgraining. It is less than 10 years old and the lady does not give it a rough time (TV personality).20200619_180536.jpg
This is less than 10 years old and white gold which is harder to dent than platinum. Corner diamonds have tilted about 20 degrees.

Thank you! I will be doing that.

Sometimes I almost want to order a moissy or something to wear everyday. I am getting paranoid!

Thank you! Me too:). I thought the halo setting which is low profile would be better for me but it turns out I am a clutz regardless.
Most men would prefer to be with a clutz than a princess

Ok so I have had some problems with this setting since purchase (It is a Sylvie ring). Even though I love the look of it, I think I may be ready to move on. I am terrified to send my ring to be reset and would like some advice. This is what i am considering from James Allen. Any advice or opinions mean a lot. Thank you. 2FE1822F-8478-4C85-9925-EB14DA817DF0.png0C7CFE99-0097-42C6-B944-CF70066A9214.png

I don’t want to take away from the finger coverage I have now....would this setting do that? I have attached my ASET.
