Hi again everybody! LoL :) How are you? My boyfriend is current only a budget of $4,500 or less. Are there any reputable online vendors that people from Pricescope recommend (like GOG, Whiteflash, James Allen, etc.) that sell *PRE-SET* engagement rings for $4,500 or less? Hopefully big, beautiful, and good quality. I''ve heard that that searching for a good diamond AND a setting for $4,500 is going to be harder to find. So any help would be greatly appreciated! I look forward to hearing from all of you and I thank you in advance for all of your responses! :)

Maybe try the "specials" portion of the Pearlman''s website link

Do you mind me asking why you need it to be "pre-set"? I would think you could get a nice stone and setting at a place like Whiteflash and they could assemble it all for you free of charge, right? Or is the boyfriend ready to ask you as soon as possible?

I personally found a ring on Ebay (I know, I know). Tiffany, exactly what I waned, for half the retail price. Sure there is a risk there, but I made sure to buy from someone who had a return policy (so I could get the ring authenticated and return it if it was garbage). Signedpieces.com also has pre-owned, as do some other sites (like AmberGretchen mentioned). I''d love to help you look! Any style in particular you are looking for?

OK, I''ve read your old posts now... So you said you you were in love with a particular Verragio setting. I looked it up, and it seems to run around $2500 or so. Not sure if GOG carries that setting, but even if they don''t, they could probably get it for you. Then you could get something between .7 and .85 carat Round Brilliant at GOG, then upgrade later? Something like this:

.73

or this one''s pretty big, actually
.81

I can''t see how anyone would really be able to tell the .81 from 1 carat very easily (your average person, anyway, not PSers!). Then you upgrade later. The beauty of the setting is what you are going for anyway, so the stone size diference will be less noticeable than when placed in a simple solitaire setting. Sorry if someone else spewed all of this out before.

That's a very respectable budget. What sizes stone are you hoping to find? And where are you flexible, color or clarity?

Are you looking for an asscher?

Hi guys! Thank you all so, so much! I really appreciate this! My boyfriend is looking to have the engagement ring for this December. You are so kind. I would love for you to help me! That would be terrific and greatly appreciated! I am very flexible on clarity and color, I just want it to appear as big as possible, loll :) I don't think I would want an SI2 if it's flaws were visually noticeable easily or a J color if it easily looks yellow. But I am no expert on diamonds so I wouldn't know. I would love to have an H/SI or higher/better but due to my budget, I don't know how possible that would be. I have seen many settings that I like but my dream setting that I am really hooked on is the Verragio Style # ENG-0262 with a round center diamond. But as of right now, my boyfriend's budget is strictly $4,500 or less. If you guys could help me find this to make this happen, I'd be in your debt forever! Loll :) Thank you guys! TTYS :)
P.S. QueenG, where have you seen the the Verragio Style # ENG-0262 Setting for $2,500? I would love to know! I have seen it at www.JamesAndSons.com for $2,670 in Platinum which I thought was great but did not know if it was fake. Also, I believe at the website of Richter and Philips for $3,900 and that included both the engagement ring AND the matching wedding band, both in platinum. If you find any other similar or better deals on it, please let me know! Thank you again! :)

I think you can put together a nice ring for that! Can you tell us what you''re hoping for the setting? Gold or plat? Does the stone need to be upgradeable in the future or is this it for you? Round diamond I assume.

If your budget is $4500 I would not spend half or more on the setting. I know some people do and mine was a 33/66. But if you ever decide to upgrade you most likely will not be able to reuse your setting.

If you find a stone for $4000 and a setting for $500 you would end up with a nice combination and be able to upgrade someday (if you choose) both stone and setting.

The J''s do show some warmth but there are a lot of them here and if the cut is ideal it makes up for the color.

Asscher102, I feel you were given some helpful advice in your last thread, but I'll reiterate here. Your budget is very respectable, there is no need to lament. BUT - if you want a designer setting, a BIG diamond, and high colour and clarity, something will have to give.
imho, that something should be the Verragio setting - as swingirl said, it may not be wise to spend more than half of your budget on the setting - especially if you're a size girl with regards to the diamond. Are you open to the idea of getting an amazing diamond as big as possible now in a simple setting, then upgrading it in a couple of years when you and your Fi can afford?

If you have a look at Whiteflash.com, there are a number of lovely settings for under $1000. This will leave you a decent amount to get close to a 1ct within your budget.

With regards to SI2 clarity, as you may be aware from looking around here, many PS'ers buy completely eyeclean si2's to maximise their budget. Nobody, including you, will ever see the flaws in a carefully chosen si2.

And with regards to J colour, its really a personal preference, but have you seen some of the J's and K's on this forum!? They are gorgeous and still look very white. Some people, including myself , actually enjoy the "warmer toned" stones from I-K.. If its a diamond with ideal proportions, you will very rarely make out any "yellow tint". Infact I am waiting on my new K at the moment.

However its really up to you - if you feel J is not comfortable for you, go with H or I.

Just some suggestions to maximise your budget, than you can get the bigger stone that you want!

If you give your preferences some thought and post your parameters - ie. acceptable colour and clarity range, we can start to look closer for some candidates for you.

Hiya, I think that $4,500 is a pretty decent budget for a nice ring!!

I have a simliar budget (plus another $1000 to have it shipped to my home iun Australia - a cost you won''t have) and I have been dealign with whiteflash....

I have found diamonds right up to nearly 1 carat which are excellent in quality for up to $3,500....and slightly smaller 0''8-0''9 carat stones for around $3,000 - all with very good cut, colour, finish etc ..... I have been woprkign with whiteflash to have a setting of my choice, and have narrowed it down to two options, one of their ''standard'' settings, or a semi-custom made one (I sent them a photo and they said they could make it for less than $1000).......

I''m like you, I want to have the dimaond and the ring from one place, the stone set and received the finished product.......... and for a budget of between $4000 and $4500 I can pretty much get exactly what I wanted from a reputable dealer who (thus far) have been a dream to work with!!

All excellent advice! I actually did a post where I asked people to show me their J-M color diamonds. You would be amazed at these beauties. I myself am in love with Coatimundi''s K color RB.

Here''s the link: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/please-show-me-your-j-k-l-or-m-diamonds.84000/

Here is a nice .82 ct. I/SI1 from GoodOldGold that I would own in a minute! At 6mm round, it would look almost as big as my 1.05 ct. Jubilee cut diamond!!!
