Hey all,
I''m in the market for an engagement ring and I figure I am going to have to buy the setting and diamond separately. I am a college student and I work part time so I don''t have tons of cash to throw at this. I''m wanting to keep it under $2,000 which probably means I will spend as close to $2,000 as possible. I want to get my girlfriend something unique with a vintage feel. I really like Scott Kay''s vintage selection, but it is way out of my price range... his settings cost more than my total budget. I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of some less expensive settings like Scott Kay''s. I particularly like the intricacies that he puts into the bands. I''m not exactly an avid reader of Brides.com, but my girlfriend was checking it out and I found some great examples on there. If I had an unlimited budget, I would go down this route ---> http://www.brides.com/engagement/engagement_rings/gallery/vendor/designer/scott_kay/detail/158259?offset=23#_chip=0 Obviously, that ring is out of my budget, but I would love to find something similar. I don''t know if it is realistic to find a setting like this for $800ish and spend around $1200 on the diamond, but asking couldn''t hurt.
So, if anyone can point me in the right direction or slap some sense into me, please do.
Thanks,
Justin
