I recently purchased a ring online from Blue Nile and initially it looked great although having been tired and busy with work I didn't really spend long looking at it other than to check everything was as I ordered.
This evening I examined it a little closer and noticed that actually it's not "perfect"...
Firstly and most obviously the diamond is not squarely mounted in the setting, it's a a bit of an angle, probably only a few degrees, but it's noticeable.
Secondly, when I laid the ring on a very flat surface, it looks like it's actually very slightly bent.
Having spent nearly £4,500 on this ring I would expect it to be perfect, however not knowing anything really about jewellery I don't know if this is considered acceptable or if it's been poorly constructed.
I would welcome some advice on what to do. Fortunately if it needs to be returned I have a few weeks to rectify the situation to fit in with my plans.
Thanks in advance.
