Hi, well I've stumbled along Pricescope and been lurking around for the past 2 weeks to try to learn what I can about making a purchase for an engagement ring. I was expecting to do some more research/look at more options but I think I actually happened upon what I was looking for. There's really so much to learn that its a bit overwhelming so I would like a second opinion.

I was looking at this diamond (was prioritizing cut and looking for a carat weight ~1.25. Sacrificing on color due to looking to pair with a rose gold setting. Clarity I was looking for one that would be eye clean (or hidden by the setting).

Going to be pairing it with this setting which she helped picked out.

She also particularly liked the knot design on this other setting and I was hoping to see if I could combine them but they said it wasn't possible.

I have requested an ASET report on the diamond as the one in the AGA certification is computer generated. Please let me know your opinions! Thank you for your time.

I'm not an expert on princess cuts, but my first reaction was that the diamond looks really nice - very clear and crisp facets. If the ASET checks out, it looks like a nice diamond to me!

Thats what i thought too! And I think? the price looks right?

I did do some looking around again and I do feel like the stone looks less brilliant than other similar stones but I think that's just the lighting?

Also I noticed that the side stones average color is G-H, would that be any problem with a J colored center diamond?

I would not personally like that stone in the first setting, I don't think it will look right with the round side stones. I think the second setting is a better choice.

That's actually what I thought too but she prefers the princess cut on it. I've asked other ppl as well and it's went both ways so seems it's just a personal preference thing.

There’s examples on JA of princesses set in that setting and they look nice imo. Plus her preference trumps us any day ;)2

I think the stone looks good. I thought I would like the second setting better but when I looked at the "real" pictures of it it looked kind of clunky and
not well executed ::). I prefer the first setting you posted.

Get the one you think she likes the best though.
