thanks for you input!

im a total newbie at all this...are you seeing the light leakage from the imagescope report?

i took a look at a bunch of the superbcut diamonds and most of the imagescopes look about the same??

can you find me an example of one on there that doesnt show alot of light leakage?

thanks again!

Check out Whiteflash''s ACA princess stones. Usually they have some great ones.

2 other questions

even with the light leakage ... the diamond i refer to in the first post
still received the highest grades for fire, brilliance, and sparkle
on the brilliancescope report ....... how is that possible?
and does that light leakage really matter then?

second ......this princess cut diamond has a table of 54% ...thats the lowest
of any princess cut diamond ive seen ...and alot of info im seeing states
that princess cuts should have a table in the 60''s ....... is 54 bad?

thanks!

brilliancescope is not the same as idealscope.

and yes, light leakage does matter. The stone JulieN posted looks great.

SuperbCert princesses are cut special for them. SuperbCert uses BrillianceScope, so it is reasonable to assume that the diamonds they have cut for them are designed to do well on BrillianceScope. There are stones cut specifically to max out the BS, like Solasfera. Does that mean you will prefer such a stone? No.

Looking at the picture, I personally feel like that particular table is too small. A different crown faceting, with 54T may be more appealing to me, but I don't like this particular table at this size. Also, the pictures show that it is somewhat rectangular.

This stone is only 0.55 carat, and as such the table may not be too small.

It was graded by GIA in 2004. Just around that time. Barry at Superb Cert was experimenting on cutting better princess cuts than were commonly found. It is very possible that this is one of those stones, that were part of the development process that he did at the time.

As to the B Scope report. Ask what the date that it was performed is/was. Over the last three years there has been immense change in both the hardware and the quite a few software upgrade versions. It is POSSIBLE that it would grade differently now on the B Scope.

Hope this helps,

thanks for you replies

im still trying to understand in what way will the light leakage affect
the diamond?

if the diamond scores VH/VH/VH on the brilliancescope .... that means...i
assume it will have great fire, sparkle and brilliance

so what will the detriment of the light leakage be?

also..i do see that the stone is slightly rectangular....but at such a small
size...will that even be noticeable?
