Looking for opinions on a solitaire setting!

Hi all,

I just bought a beautiful 0.84c Black by Brian Gavin diamond that I'm very excited about but I need to find a setting to pair it with! I have narrowed it down to 3 choices on the Brian Gavin website and I'd like to get some outside opinions on them. I really like 4-prong cathedral style rings that don't try to do too much but are still really elegant, beautiful, and combine a bit of modern with classic.

First, my favorite of these three settings is the Truth Cathedral. I really like how the prongs come up and just everything about it. The problem is that the band looks a little thick for my tastes, close to 4mm I'd bet. Do you all think that would be a problem with a 0.8c 6mm stone on a size 6 finger? I certainly don't want to detract from the diamond. Would it be weird to pair it with a thinner wedding band in the future?

Second is the Elegance. This ring tapers from 2.7mm-2.2mm so the size is better. Unfortunately it doesn't have the head and prongs that I like on the Truth Cathedral.

Lastly, the Mellisa (2.6mm-1.7mm taper) I feel combines a bit of both of them but I much prefer the concave cathedral peaks on the other settings than the convex one shown here.

Anyway, I'm torn and I think they're all beautiful in their own way. I'm curious as to what your opinions are!

What about reaching out to Brian to see if they can do a semi-custom version of the Truth setting? Have the shank width modified to 2mm or so? I just did this with Vatche for their Royal Crown setting and it was no problem at all. I did have to pay a small surcharge but it was totally worth it to get what I really wanted. Good luck!

That's exactly what I was thinking...get them to make you what you want. 4mm is too wide for your stone. I prefer the concave
cathedrals as well. I like the Elegance the most but I would like a slimmed down version of the head, no donut or minimal donut
if possible.

I just heard back from the company and the Truth Cathedral is <=3mm in width! I've decided to go with that one.
