So i have been trying to get to the HCA calculator and everytime i get webpage not found. From the research i have done al the proportions are excellent except the pavillion angle is 41.2. Which is a little out of excellent range. Will this diamond have good fire and sparkle. CF66C541-1A5C-40A8-825A-08E3E0BACD22.png

Click on Resources on the top of this page. Bottom half of that page, under “Other Resources” click on HCA.

Also, can you post the other parts of the lab report that are not showing.

41.2 is not good. Small changes in the pavilion are critical.

Edit...if you give me a sec I will run it for you.

Edit...check that...I dont have enough info from what you posted

Here is your HCA score anything above 2 is a rejection

The only info that was missing in the GIA report was the carat weight but was put in the thread title and was able to run the HCA numbers....with a steep Pavillion at 41.2 you will more than likely have some leakage in light return this would be a pass for me.

This is a diamond my jeweler showed me. It looks great in person and has good shine and fire to me. First diamond i am purchasing. I started researching this hca scale and saw that it matters. Is there going to be a noticeable difference to an average person like my self from under 2 to 3

To your eyes it might have great fire and sparkle but to know for sure on the performance of the diamond you need to ask your jeweler for advanced images like Idealscope and Aset and come back and post and you will get a more detailed answer how well it performs.

All we can go on is the GIA report and the numbers and one of the most important angles is the Pavillion.... you want that to be between 40.6 - 40.8 to be safe

Did you see this diamond only under jewelry store lighting? Basically all diamonds look good under those lights. You need to see it under natural outdoor light, regular office lights etc. Jewelers spend a small fortune on their lighting for good reason. I suspect this diamond won’t look as appealing under normal lighting.

This is an important factor

I would pass on this one.

How did you run it without the LxWxD?

Edit ...I could not run it with the lab number alone (which he did not post initially)...even when he posted that...I had to enter all the info by hand.
Sometimes the lab number works for me, sometimes not...and its frustrating when it doesnt.

Yes we went outside with diamond as well. Very reputable high end jewler thats been in buisness for 80 years and my family been going to them for a long time. I dont think i could really tell a difference between this and something better. Its in my price range which i like.
It does look exceptional and is eye clean. Im just wondering to a regular person are we really going to tell the difference between this and something better

Probably not unless you see some well cut stones under different lighting conditions. Rule #1 ..don't settle for a poorly cut stone. The jeweler can be in business for a zillion yrs that doesn't mean they are selling well cut stones...;))btw; how much is the stone?

Can you ask the jeweler to show you this diamond along side other better cut ones that meets PS recommended cut specs and has an HCA of 2 or less (possibly up to 2.3)? Personally I’m of the opinion that there are other, better options and there is no reason to settle. If your only criteria is that it’s in your price range, then go for it. But since you posted here I assume you’d like to get a diamond with the best performance that meets your requirements as far as size, color and clarity that’s in your price range, and I’m betting this diamond isn’t it. If you post your requirements and price range, I’m sure the knowledgeable PSers here can find some options for you. GL!

These could be promising (some have images). All have better angles and are G, VS2.
