Looking for help with setting for my first color stone!

Hey all~ I just bought this lovely 2.5ct, 8.5mm round pink tourmaline from a fellow PSer and it's my first color stone and I'm super excited about it! 8693594_0.jpg

But I am having a hard time find a setting for it without killing my bank so I'm here to call for help!
I went on eBay try to find a used or cheaper setting but 8.5mm is almost impossible to find. I really like the look of this listing with wg instead of rose gold but I assume it's going to cost alot if I go with Daniel M to make it and I can't find seller selling this in 8.5mm (I did e-mail them ask about it)

So right now I am open to all suggestions, idea, whatever you think will look lovely bring it!!! ( Although I don't have a budget set yet, I don't really want to go over $4-500 which is not much with the gold price now, but work your magic! )

yes, the ebay listing I posted is a branch of them so many of the setting are the same. I e-mailed them and still waiting on a reply~ :bigsmile:
 
From my experience, the price quotes i'd receive for project from Daniel M or the ebay venders (Lanbo, Lord of Gem, Diamondmounts, etc.) were about the same. This was probably because I'd request the settings from the ebay vendors to be custom or made for a different size gem than the auction they had. I'd recommend emailing different vendors quotes, then you can do a price comparison and go from there.
 
I e-mailed Daniel M yesterday as well as the other ebay vendors I wonder how long would take them to get back to me...
 
thank you guys with all the help! I will keep in mind with all the suggestions. Daniel M did e-mail me back for more info so hopefully I will get his quote and other replies tomorrow~ :bigsmile:
 
another question, how much does it normally cost to get the stone set if I buy the setting from eBay?
 
My local B&M charges 20.00-30.00 to set gems. Of course the don't accept responsibility if the gem is damaged during setting. I'd recommend going to someone you trust.

Thank you, I may end up doing that. Daniel M's quote for me is about $1,000 so that's way over my budget... :blackeye:
 
wow, I just called my local store and they said to set a stone they charge starts at $180 :eek: which is wayyyy more than the $30ish I was hoping
 
so from another post made me a little worry that for a 8.5mm stone the 1.5mm band maybe little too delicate...
