Looking for halo setting for round that makes it appear oval

Hi all! My mom gave me and my husband her 1 carat gorgeous round. I'd like to keep it but I had my heart set on an oval stone. Anyone seen a halo setting that can make a round appear oval? That would solve my dilemma I think!

I'm sure it can be done, like the picture above but the tiny gaps at the top and the bottom between the round stone and the oval halo might be bothersome? Is there any way you can just keep the round and have it set into a pendant and then still get the oval for your e-ring?
