Looking for feedback on ASET images

I am searching for the "perfect" round brilliant diamond for my engagement ring and would love some feedback! I viewed these stones in person today and took the ASET images myself so I apologize if they're not great. I do have ASET videos if that would be helpful to add.

I did notice that diamond #1 (1.82, G color) appeared much darker than the others when viewing in person so I am leaning towards diamond #2 or #3. Which diamond do you think is the best? Are there any red flags?

I think they all look like solid choices.
Since you were able to view them all, do you have a favorite?

GIA D looks like it has cleaner material than the others. The G has visible growth lines and grain/strain/stria in the vendor video.

Which one is the easiest to align the arrows and take a centered ASET image? In my experience with H&A rounds the ones cut with more precision are easier than others to do so.

All the ASET images look great. I like the color/clarity combo and proportions of #3 best. Have you taken them around your usual lighting environments to compare their performance?

Thanks, DejaWiz! I also thought they all looked pretty good under the ASET. Diamond #1 looked a little dark when viewing with the naked eye so I think my favorite is #3. I’ll post some comparison pictures!

Thank you, Kim! I think #3 is my favorite, too. :)

I‘ve only viewed them in the Frank Darling office but they fortunately don’t have any deceiving lighting there. Just natural sunlight through big windows and “normal” overhead lights. I just posted some more pictures in a reply to DejaWiz.

You're very welcome - and #3 would be my personal choice, as well. It exhibits the best cut precision and optics out of all three, in my opinion.

Thank you for pointing out those issues with the G! I have a hard time identifying those things as a novice.

Diamonds #2 and #3 were a little easier to align in the ASET. We had to go back to take more pictures of #1. But that may just be because we were getting better at it as we went.

I noticed that diamond #2 has a hearts and arrows notation in the IGI report and the others do not. Does that just mean that the supplier of diamonds #1 and #3 didn’t pay for a hearts and arrows evaluation on the report?

Wow that’s definitely not what a well cut G with good CVD material should look like next to a well cut D/E.

For reference, this is an I next to a D. Even though the I has pink/brown CVD tint, the color difference is very subtle and not nearly as big as shown in your pictures between the G and D/E.

IGI charges for H&A assessment and notation. It’s possible that the supplier did not want to pay for the service, or that the diamond did not pass IGI’s criteria for H&A. GIA does not offer H&A assessment and notation. The H&A inscriptions noted on some GIA reports are done by the suppliers.

I like 3 the most. 1 is strangely dark for a G

It seems like diamond #3 is the favorite! Thank you all for your help! :)

There is one other diamond that I haven't been also to view in person yet. I'm deciding whether I should just go ahead a buy #3 or try to view this other diamond before making a decision. Here are the details:

4. 1.84 carat
Clarity: VS1
Color: G
Cut: Ideal
Table: 57.5
Depth: 60.7
Ratio: 1.0
Crown Angle: 34.4
Pavilion Angle: 40.9
Price: $1146

HCA score: 1.5
HCA report:
This diamond is listed at $1146 while diamond #3 is $1660, so there is a pretty big price difference. Do you think it's worth seeing this new diamond in person or should I go with diamond #3?

The cut looks good, but the CVD material is quite brown.

That's good to know. I think I'll pass on seeing it in person and go with #3!
