Considering a Cushion Cut Halo from Victor Canera.

Im looking to spend about $20k for the center stone and under $25k all up.

Looking to get around 2 carats but not too worried if its slightly under. Would prefer to h or better but considering some of the i's below.

What are peoples recommendation on the following stones that are within my price range:

https://www.victorcanera.com/diamonds/j60fl2-1.847-g-vs2-ideal-antique-cushion

Anything else I should be looking at?

Is anyone able to help provide advice on the options outlined above? I would really appreciate it.

What setting do you want?

Almost all of these would put you over budget (in some cases, way over) with one of Victor's settings.

They are all beautiful stones...if you want to come in close to your budget you might want to go with the 1.94 I.

Hi OP,
Let me know if we can help you with your selection.
kb1gra, I know you have the best intentions in trying to help the original poster but our designs are not that expensive. I've also seen some other well intentioned posters make assumptions about our rings being $5K-$6K or higher which were in fact incorrect.
We can do a simple solitaire for a client starting from $2K and our pave pieces can be much more affordable than what people might think.

My Best,

I'm comfortable with the cost of those a stones plus the rings from what I have seen

Would be great if people had any input on a particular stone beingsbetter or worse value at that price point.

They are all beautiful choices! I would suggest narrowing down your choices to 2-3 and then asking Victor to provide you pictures/videos of the diamonds side by side. That will let you see if one “speaks” to you. I don’t know if he does that, but I am guessing he does. If not, I would still suggest contacting him and he can give you his opinion on the best choice for you (as he has offered in this thread).

Some other thoughts I have on your choices…

Do you have a personal preference (or your significant other) on the shape of the diamond? The first one is going to be the most square, followed by the last one. The rest seem to be similar in shape and slightly more rectangular.

The obvious difference in the first one is that it is a G color and all the rest are I color. Also, looking at the dimensions, it will also be visually smaller than all the rest. So, unless you really want the higher color or super square shape, I would throw that one out.

The 2.058 ct. has a large cutlet versus all the rest at very small or small. You can research that, but some people have a preference for smaller cutlets. Also, the clarity is overkill in my opinion at VVS1. I personally would get the 2.024 or 1.948 ct before this one at $1-$2K less.

Both the 2.218 and the 2.24 ct have the largest dimensions but I am not sure if that justifies another $1-$3K. That is kind of up to you. I think most people would say that they can start seeing a visual difference in size at about 0.2mm and these are just about that much bigger than #3-5 on your list. Side by side it will probably be noticable but less so once set.

I would also ask Victor to confirm that they are all eye clean. They most likely are, but I would particularly ask for the VS2s if you are interested in those. I personally am a SI clarity gal and feel I get more bang for the buck, so I certainly think VS2 is the best value in the bunch.

Hope that helps! Look forward to seeing how you proceed!

I was attracted to the shape of the g. Yes it's not 2 cts but I liked the outline. Plus, regardless of the ctw, you get used to it after a while, so I think I higher color isn't a terrible idea, especially if it comes with that outline.

Still interested in what setting you'll do. Sounds like a fun project!
