Hello! First time poster here. With a budget of about $3000 (for just the stone), I'm looking for a round diamond to be eventually put into a halo setting. I've found the following and was wondering if I could get any opinions/feedback on it:

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-VS1-Excellent-Cut-Round-Diamond-1514541.asp

Also, how exactly can I go about getting the listed Pricescope Price? Do I have to order through the James Allen site, or I can request that price over the phone?

Any responses are very appreciated. Thanks!

You can't go wrong with the Brian Gavin BLues. Very nice. JA will give you the ASET on the stone you posted so you can compare.
Here are some on GOG you might want to look at as well and compare to what else is out there:

H & A H SI1

August Vintage Rounds (Take a look at the videos on the performance of these antique cuts. This video shows the difference in faceting)

Okay, I got an IS from James Allen (they said they don't give ASET for rounds):

As far as I can tell, the light return is excellent, so I'm quite pleased. Would anyone have any particular comments on it? It's only on hold until tomorrow, so anything in the next 12 hours is appreciated.

I've also read about the dangers of putting an I in a halo setting, but I got this from JA:

"I am happy to tell you that when the gemologist pulled this diamond, she immediately noticed that it had great light performance. She also commented that the diamond was completely eye clean and she said that the fluorescence of the diamond actually makes it face up closer to a G in color rather than an H. I know that fluorescence was a concern of yours and I am happy to tell you that the gemologist said that the fluorescence has no negative effect on the diamond."

Finally, my question from my first post: Is there anything in particular that needs to be done to get the Pricescope Price lised on JA, other than asking for it?

Thanks!

Okay. Sounds good. :wavey:

It looks great.

It looks like a great find! As far as the pricescope discount, just tell them you are pricescope memeber and would like the discount.
