Hi there,

Long time reader, first time poster.

After spending the past few weeks learning about diamonds, visiting jewelry stores, and comparison shopping online, I've come to the conclusion that an e-diamond is right for me.

However, I have yet to master the technique of diamond evaluation using the typical supplied images online. This forum has been extremely helpful in that regard, but I still find myself hesitant to purchase without an expert opinion.

What I'm looking for:
Round
Around 0.8 carat
G or better color
Eye-clean (si1 or better) (this is the most difficult for me to determine)
Excellent or Ideal cut
Budget for diamond: in the ballpark of $4k
Preferred Retailer: JamesAllen

I found one that seems to be eye clean and that meets my requirement except that I wasn't sure about the cut. The retailer provided me with an Idealscope image.

People of PriceScope, what are your thoughts on the Idealscope image? Would you recommend other diamonds that fit my requirements?

Thank you.

Beautiful diamond. No issues. Buy it.

If you're looking for other options, cheaper:

--ppl might poo poo the crown as being high but you won't notice.

--Fatter arrows = slightly larger flashes of light. lower pav angle matched w/ higher crown

--same deal w/ the higher crown. the alignment of facets might be off on this one slightly, but it may have been the camera angle. It's an e color.
