Hi PSers! Longtime lurker here, emerging to ask for the help of this amazing community!
Short version:
I would love your help in my hunt for a lively, colorful OEC that measures roughly 6.7x6.7mm, hopefully I-J, to replace an OEC of the same size in an existing setting. (Not too picky about clarity, as long as it's eye-clean.) No clue where to start and would love any suggestions!
Long version:
My fiance proposed with a really special antique ring (c. 1920) a few months ago - 1.04ct I VS2 OEC center with baguettes and single cuts on the shoulders. I Love the setting, but am looking to switch out the center stone for something of a similar vintage but more lively.
The stone in my ring is beautiful in its own way - has that bright white "crushed ice" look due to a shallow cut (55.8% depth) - but after living with the center stone for a couple of months, I have realized I am craving more of that chunky pastel OEC sparkle that would come from a deeper stone. (And yes, I know I am going to have to go up in weight to get to a deeper stone of the same measurements
.)
Can anyone help point me to either specific stones or places to look? It seems like there are tons of resources to find modern cuts, but not sure where to look for loose antique cut diamonds.
thank you SO MUCH in advance!!!
